A waiver? A WAIVER? Brother, the SECOND Franck Kepnang committed to UK, the NCAA should’ve auto‑approved that thing like Amazon Prime shipping. This man is getting a SEVENTH YEAR and maybe even an 8th year! The genius of the GM Battalion! Told ya!

He was only at Kansas 4 years. The joke on him was that it “seemed” like he’d been there forever and he looked older. No one made fun of his actual age. Apples/Oranges.

We’re not even in the same college basketball hemisphere as we were ten years ago when Ellis played.
Perry Ellis had a phenomenal receding hairline. Guarantee that guy had a minivan and an AARP card his last year at Kansas.

Second transfer from UW.

What was UW record last year? 16-17? Is that correct?

I am sure Pope will “coach him up” next year.

He is going to be 25 years old next season? Is that correct?

There is absolutely, positively nothing exciting about this recruit for me. Nothing.

Nearly 50 year passionate fan of UK basketball, this is the worst state the program has been in.

Even in probation years, Pitino competency, coaching, recruiting, basketball style and program management gave hope during the tough years. You knew it was matter of time before he returned UK to the top.

Pope zero trust and confidence, which continues to be reinforced and rightfully earned with this off season **** show.

Hate bitching and hate negative comments. But they are recurring earned.

The day Pope and Administration get things back to UK standards and winning ways (I have zero confidence this will happen) I welcome opportunity to get back on the earned positive bandwagon.

My man… you typed this whole doom‑and‑gloom obituary for Kentucky basketball like you’re delivering a eulogy at a funeral nobody asked you to attend. You’ve been a fan for 50 years? Congratulations you’ve officially learned NOTHING in five decades.

And this ‘worst state of the program’ nonsense? Brother, you sound like a Facebook uncle who still thinks Pitino is walking through that door on a white horse and a cape. Pope is out here building a roster with the GM BATTALION.

Either hop on the bandwagon or go sit in the corner and knit a sweater about the glory days. The rest of us are moving forward with Pope while you’re stuck in 1993 polishing your Pitino shrine!

There was a point in time when Kentucky fans made fun of Perry Ellis.

Fast forward to now, Kansas has Tyran Stokes, and Kentucky is getting hyped about a geriatric 25 yo who would play 15 minutes tops in the few games he manages to stay healthy.

He'll bring more ENERRRRGYYYYY cheering on the team from the bench than whatever you guys are dreaming a

He’s a marginal improvement over Garrison as backup C probably

Kepnag
6 pts 6 reb 52%fg 68% ft 2 block 25min

Garrison’
4 pt 4 reb 54%fg 59%ft .8 blocks 16 min

I’d say it’s an improvement over last season…and every little helps
He's way better than that, dont worry about Stats

He ain't laying up shieeet in this video!
Please stay healthy big man.

The 10/15 minutes he will give will win some vital games.

As far as Franck being an "old head " @ 25

Shawn Kemp looked 40 coming outta high school..

Who cares about a number.. lace em up, play your game !!!

Welcome to the BBN!!

Because of injuries he just played 8 games one season and 10 in another.
In college basketball a single game is supposed to count as a year in which eligibility is used.

He has had six of those years, and five years with at least ten games played. His getting a waiver last year was a bit surprising; for this coming year it would be very surprising.

If he is eligible he’s an excellent get.

to me this is either:

(a) a budget gamble in order to offer milan money

or

(b) the staff feels it cant do better with any other prospects at a backup 5 position

either way.....doesnt feel great

Hahaha.

Your response is telling.

But it is message board so you are entitled to your perspective.

My sense there is 10-15% of this board have and are objectively calling for Pope to be fired and administration held accountable (neglecting fiduciary responsibilities over program).

The other 85-90% have differing opinions and want to support Pope regardless of his performance and latest **** up.

I will continue to post positive comments when earned and negative comments when earned. My objectively is called maturity.

If my criticism makes you uncomfortable, block me. Your opinion is irrelevant.

Time to enjoy the evening on my 57 Hinckley and pour a bourbon.

That Brother……is called winning, which I know well and have learned over time.

You should see the stunned look on my face right now.

Something tells me you've never been satisfied and this isn’t even close to the worst state the program has been in. Cal went to an NIT, had the worst season in UK history and the 2 worst NCAAT losses in UK history, plus, how can a 50 year fan ever forget about "Kentucky Shame" that damn near could have been the death penalty? Give me a break.
Even in probation years, Pitino competency, coaching, recruiting, basketball style and program management gave hope during the tough years. You knew it was matter of time before he returned UK to the top.
I bet you were as positive as can be when KU was blowing us out by 50. Yeah, I bet you knew exactly how it was all going to turn out 8 years later. 🙄
Pope zero trust and confidence, which continues to be reinforced and rightfully earned with this off season **** show.
Jesus, he signed a backup center, you're acting like this is our best player.
Hate bitching and hate negative comments. But they are recurring earned.
Sure doesn't seem like this is true.

Seems to me like Pope could get to the Final 4 and you would still post this crap.

Someone saying we are taking dudes from Washington but we're pissed when juke Harris went to tn, and shetland went to Louisville and several other players from losing teams went to better teams. I mean is it obvious that same people are bandwagon fans or what. I heard it was the people with the herd mentality. the miserable ones on here all have 5 burner accounts, throw up in the mouth.

Get what you are saying but every back up
Can’t be paid starter money. I personally would’ve went the international route but a high level would want more money probably than what Frank was given. I have no clue the financial I just speculating. IMO if we don’t get Milan I would hope it would be Houndi, Hugo or niang

Has he graduated by now? Unless he is a Dr or someone that has to go for 6-8 years. Don't think that is the case. But I'll take him, he looks like he can bang around underneath.

In all fairness, when Shelstad played for Oregon two years ago they were excellent, and without him (injured) last year they fell apart.

One of the tricky parts of signing Kepnang is that it’s now pretty impossible to recruit another playable post, and by the time his seventh year waiver is denied there’ll be nothing left. I guess if Moreno goes pro that would be early enough to grab another big.

I keep saying ^ the days of true insiders are over. It’s kind of the way it has to be at Kentucky right now. Insiders tell too much and our fans have no chill. Silence and diversions are going to be more common under Pope and perhaps the next coach too if they feel it helps things.

Being “wrong” a lot of the time now means being “right” too early. Things change and half the information being told to people around the program are smokescreens. No slight to Jacob P, Jack Pilgrim , Trilly or anyone else. Subs to get info are pointless at UK in 2026.

Supposedly he has seven children so at least he’s getting some NIL to spread around.

Well then people would say oh they got an injury plagued player... what if he gets injured again? I guess it don't work for other teams....

i just assume euro guys will be cheaper and most euro bigs typically have a better offensive skillset (maybe bad on defense). but in theory would be a good fit, high upside. this guys is neither really. might not be eligible and is injury prone.

Dylan knows several agents, it’s mostly where he gets his info. Like I said I believe Kentucky staff is purposely giving false information this portal season. It’s happened too many times and never used to. It is what it is, I just hope Moreno stays and I like our 4/5 slots. We stilll need that shooter and the bag is available for Milan.

Not certain your intended points.

1) Are you advocating for this recruit considering our existing roster construction and the Moreno speculation of staying in the draft? If so why?

2) Do you advocate for Pope’s performance as
Coach to date? If so why?
