I am aware Cal took UK’s recruits and players and added depth and then bested Pope’s portal team in Rupp. BUT, Pope clearly does not suck. He took a lesser squad to Arkansas and manhandled the more talented Razorbacks coached by Cal. Having a lesser team on the road and beating Cal does give a foundation for someone to argue Pope is the better coach. It’s relevant. And, if Pope sucks, damn, Cal must be no better. Much better recruiter. But that must mean he is a worse floor coach.

No need to move goalposts when the proof is in the pudding. Cal is outperforming Pope in every category besides the head to head where they are tied at 1-1.
No person alive with any working brain cells truly believes that Pope is a better coach than Cal in any facet of college basketball. It’s not even close.
