Mendoza should not be allowed to board the plane.
I guess he boarded the plane, otherwise we'd have heard it by now. So unless Mendoza gets the Willie Randolph treatment, he has at least nine more games to turn it around.

I am starting to come around to your point of view. On the whole, I think baseball managers are overrated. But they must have the respect of their team. Not sure Mendoza does.

I keep coming back to the incident when Vientos ignored the stop sign rounding third base. He showed no remorse and acknowledged no error. I suspect that if a Showalter-type were manager, his response may have been different.

No managerial changes imminent.

As managerial votes of confidence go, this sounds a tad lukewarm. But, better than a kick in the nuts I guess.

Just a question

Is Cohen too rich ???

I guess making 2.5 billion a year on top of your already 23 billion dollar net worth makes you not give a F—k about anything.
Getting clowned on every talk show,
Having a new meme created every day on how bad your team sucks , Jokes about how tacos are more expensive then Mets tickets really means nothing to you.

Only good thing out of this is we can have party for Doug in the Hyundai club when Stearns gets fired !! tickets should be under $70 bucks . Talk some Rutgers football and enjoy some good eats

Haha very true but better than hanging in the wind. I really like mendy the person so hoping this turns. Glad the pitching looked better yesterday and had the hits when we needed them. String some games together now please! The talent is there for it even with the injuries. Hoping Polanco gets back soon we could use the bat even though he started off slow as well.

There was a time when catcher was considered a defense-first position, and a guy like Torrens would be in demand as a potential starter.

Ain't no such thing as a defense-first position any more.
You can win a WS with a modern day Jerry Grote

Watching the Syracuse Mets, AJ Ewing is now 10 for 15 at the AAA level.

Now 10 for 16, long fly out to center field on a 3-0 pitch.

Not challenging the play cost the Mets the game. That is incompetence by Stearns and Mendoza. Stearns gets some blame for hiring the coaching staff without Mendoza having a bigger say. Mendoza gets blame for lacking solid coaching chops.

I'm the post game, Mendoza basically threw the replay coordinator under the bus. Said that he (replay coordinator) missed it.

I think that is BS. This was the unusual case where the replay had to splice two plays together in real time - the tag play at third, and the runner arriving at home. You have 15 seconds to challenge. They probably didn't have a replay to look at.

IMO, Mendoza has to challenge that call just based on feel of the game. The runner on first was tagged out at third by a wide margin. Mendoza had to know that the tag could have occurred before the runner on second scored, and it would be worth the challenge to save the run.

Mauricio to IL. Injured his hand sliding headfirst into first base. Bad play, as the fastest way to get to first base is to run through it. No word yet on who will come up.

At this point I'd imagine they'll have to move Bichette to SS and play Baty at 3B. I guess Bae or Cluff might come up but the injuries are getting ridiculous now.

Cluff another Mets minor league superstar
.139 in 72 AAA at bats this year
.215 in 1671 minor league at bats

Mets farm system is an absolute fraud !
Deep state , tin foil hat conspiracy BAD !
Cohen gave $$ to scouting services to prop up player ratings to enable Mets to make better trades. (FYI I’m not saying that’s true)

Just exaggerating so don’t call me a bad fan cause my a$$ was up watching this garbage after midnight

This reminds me of 2021, when it seemed like every position player was hurt. The Bench Mob, led by Kevin Pillar, somehow kept the team above water. The starting pitching was insanely good, and the Mets were in first place at the break. One of the most likeable Mets teams I can remember.

Then the position players came back, Javy (thumbs down) Baez arrived, deGrom got hurt, Stroman and Walker reverted to the mean, and the team became one of the least likeable Mets teams I can remember.

Very few major league teams go three deep at SS. Is your beef with the farm system, or is it with trading Jett Williams?

Beef is the entire franchise sucks
Picking up guys with under .200 career averages after being released by likes of the marlins , Nats ,A’s ect ect.
Being told how minor league system is now in the top half of the league and Mets still don’t have anyone to call up that isn’t a career AAAA 28 year old

Still waiting for one of the so called young potential stars to actually prove they should start everyday .

Baty is eh …. .240-250 15-18 ???

Vientos will get tons of chances because he flashed in the 2024 playoffs

Mauricio can’t hit , fell over swinging at curve last night. Same embarrassing swings at off speed pitches from BOTH sides of the plate.
I’m not fooled by some crap relief pitcher on the 11-22 Angels grooving a 92 mph fastball that Ronnie hammered. Send him to AAA , let him smash all 90 mph grooved fastballs he can , then trade him.

It’s waaay early but would be nice if Benge didn’t need to go 5 for 12 to bring his average UP to .179 .

I just wish I didn’t see the MLB network segment on the top performing rookies so far this year. 10 kids around 22-23 years old all off to great starts

I will admit this is still early, but... Of all the decisions that Stearns has been reamed for since he's taken over, the worst appears to be his decision to sign Polanco over Murakami.

As long as Bobby Axelrod got his $8 Billion Casino, he could give two craps about the Mets. Give him another year or two before he sells.

I would rather the Mets do this
I feel Baty has been hampered by playing unfamiliar multiple positions instead of just playing 3rd

Why do I torture myself watching this team. Mendoza doesn’t give a sh*t about what happens. Several obvious plays that should have been challenged and I wonder if he’s even awake. I seriously wonder if the players make their own lineups too.

Read the Bill Madden article on the Mets!

It is damning about Stearns !

Key points:

- Stearns needs to be fired asap !
- Clubhouse is a disaster !
- Stearns doesn’t consult wjth scouts / minor league managers.
- Thinks he’s a Know it all.
- Team has only 1 minor league potential productive player : AJ Ewing.
- Stearns only relies on analytics.
- Stearns Has no feel for the game.
- Team has no gamers. All were traded away / not resigned a la Pete / Nimmo / McNeil for injured players ( Robert / Polanco) and a finished player ( Semien)
- All of baseball is laughing at Stearns.

Basically organization is a disaster !

All what’s been discussed by mostly everyone on this thread !

I just read that article and it's a bunch of malarkey. Sounds like one person with an axe to grind and a lot of incorrect conjecture from Madden himself.
