Not yet. Still has to pass the senate then be adopted by the PIAA. I’m sure there will be push back that will delay it.Good... Sounds like its a done deal.
Mike White said on KDKA yesterday that the earliest that this would be implemented would be the 2028 school year. Not yet. Still has to pass the senate then be adopted by the PIAA. I’m sure there will be push back that will delay it.

Better late than never. It is long overdue.Mike White said on KDKA yesterday that the earliest that this would be implemented would be the 2028 school year.
Here in Ohio, the private schools play along with the public schools for state titles.
It’s not right. Put them all in one classification. If they want to recruit, go for it, but you are playing competition that recruits also. Here in Ohio, the private schools play along with the public schools for state titles.
Bishop McCort from Johnstown is the same thing in HS wrestling. The worst example of all of this is St Joes Prep. It’s comically unfair that public schools would have to face a regional multistate super team.
St. Joe's is where really good Parkland football teams end their season. Usually it is not even a competitive game. The worst example of all of this is St Joes Prep. It’s comically unfair that public schools would have to face a regional multistate super team.
I have not heard of any push to separate the schools in Ohio. Public schools are winning their share of titles in all sports here. It’s not right. Put them all in one classification. If they want to recruit, go for it, but you are playing competition that recruits also.

Very true. About Parkland… word on the street (going back decades now) in the Lehigh Valley is that Parkland SD avoided the two high school model to not dilute sports. Now they are over capacity with well over 3,000 students at the high school and the area continues to experience a population boom (particularly Upper Macungie, which is predicted to double in population as NY/NJ continues to move in.) Are they sticking with the one school model for future planning? You know East Penn is exploring a two school model.St. Joe's is where really good Parkland football teams end their season. It doesn’t make it right. If you recruit, play in your own league.I have not heard of any push to separate the schools in Ohio. Public schools are winning their share of titles in all sports here.
Ohio is different. The private and publics seem to co-exist pretty well and there are some very large Catholic schools in Cincy, Cleveland, Toledo, and Akron areas.Until someone builds a IMG Academy type of school and recruits the best kids from all over the country and blows everyone out every game and year. It's coming just a matter of time.
I'm not justifying it just stating the situation in Ohio. The OHSAA recently had a vote by all ADs (every classification) and they approved NIL for HS athletes. It was a public HS football player (OSU recruit) who brought the law suit that resulted in the vote. I know there are several schools in the Dayton area (public & private) that have been "magnets" for area athletes. It doesn’t make it right. If you recruit, play in your own league.
This Pa we are talking about here not Ohio with due respectI have not heard of any push to separate the schools in Ohio. Public schools are winning their share of titles in all sports here.
It is going to happen , just like the shot clock is comingNot yet. Still has to pass the senate then be adopted by the PIAA. I’m sure there will be push back that will delay it.
In two years then everything changesMike White said on KDKA yesterday that the earliest that this would be implemented would be the 2028 school year.
St Joe Prep should just join the league with the New Jersey preps and compete with Bergen, Bosco, etc. Not enought big privates in PA. PCC would get a 5 week bye right into the finals every year and play the winner of LaSalle-Prep.In two years then everything changes
Make no mistake. SJP will fight this tooth and nail.St Joe Prep should just join the league with the New Jersey preps and compete with Bergen, Bosco, etc. Not enought big privates in PA. PCC would get a 5 week bye right into the finals every year and play the winner of LaSalle-Prep.

The talk about keeping to one school so that they could dominate athletics competition was bullsh%t. It came from competitors. The high school is being expanded right now and there are no plans for a second one.Very true. One less since I left, for sure. Not enough big privates in PA
North Penn says hello. Now, they want to add on to the HS and the residents aren’t happy about it.Very true. That area will continue growing in population over the next 30 years. It is shocking they don’t build the second high school. I can understand saving taxpayer money in terms of not having two bloated high school administrations, but I would imagine students suffer as well from not having as many opportunities in a big crowded school. The rumor of Parkland’s one school sports motivation is not just from competitors. I have a friend who was a very prominent eastern PA politician who told me years ago that he knows for a fact the motivating factor for those decision-makers back then was sports. The talk about keeping to one school so that they could dominate athletics competition was bullsh%t. It came from competitors. The high school is being expanded right now and there are no plans for a second one.
That said, the district which was once mostly farms is expanding at an alarming rate. One of the townships is expected to add over 15,000 residents in the next few years. It is a real challenge for the school district planners.
