Status thing. Can’t have the privates mingling with the pubics.

The worst example of all of this is St Joes Prep. It’s comically unfair that public schools would have to face a regional multistate super team.
St. Joe's is where really good Parkland football teams end their season. Usually it is not even a competitive game.

It’s not right. Put them all in one classification. If they want to recruit, go for it, but you are playing competition that recruits also.
I have not heard of any push to separate the schools in Ohio. Public schools are winning their share of titles in all sports here.

Very true. About Parkland… word on the street (going back decades now) in the Lehigh Valley is that Parkland SD avoided the two high school model to not dilute sports. Now they are over capacity with well over 3,000 students at the high school and the area continues to experience a population boom (particularly Upper Macungie, which is predicted to double in population as NY/NJ continues to move in.) Are they sticking with the one school model for future planning? You know East Penn is exploring a two school model.
