At this point I hope he does. This roster and season coming up is completely f’ed. Nobody with a hint of UK level talent is willing to play for Pope outside of Wilkins and maybe Diallo. Just go out and have a .500 season so he for sure gets fired.I really hope I’m wrong about this but I’m reading this as the staff is worried Moreno will stay in the draft.
They probably both laughed and hung up the phone when they answered and heard “hey bud, this is Mark Pope from the University of Kentucky.”What blows my mind is why is Pope not going after the Slovian kid and/or Momclivic?
Just stop already. Good lord you are a clown.Definitely can play the Amari type role but shorter. Big body and a great shooting touch. For the majority of the fan base they see a trash foreign guy but he could likely start for us and be better than he will get credit for. I agree he won’t be our star player but easily could be 12/7 average for the season and hit the 3.
If he played college last season and was in the portal he’d be ranked top 100.
Lol... I've been sending people over there. It's fine.At very minimum it is a liability risk.
For my business I have shut down all professional travel to Middle East region for next 60 days (regardless of travel and embassy advisory).
I must be missing something.

You must be looking in the mirror again. Negativity brings nothing good into the world. It’s okay to be upset with the situation, to want change and to voice your opinion especially on a message board. Whereas spewing nothing but hatred and constant negativity at every opportunity is not normal and is a recipe for a miserable life, typically it’s an underlying issue bigger than surface level.Just stop already. Good lord you are a clown.
I read we might hear him commit soon. Pope can't get anyone good so I guess we take what he can get.Sigh
I remember when Pope went and saw Dink Pate play, Dink had an absolute stinker of a stat line while Kennedy Chandler (former Vol) dropped 30+ on him. Idk what happens to these guys when Pope enters the building but neither inspired confidenceMarcio Santos today with Pope watching

As much as people on here want to believe it’s not like Pope is scrambling chasing after anyone and everyone. The staff has been pursuing foreign players for a month now and in talks with several. They also have offers out to all of them and there is a pecking order on who they go after. You don’t have to like it or agree with it but it’s a thought out plan, not random selection. It’s the “moneyball” analytics we heard about and that’s how they are choosing the targets and offer amounts. Next season will tell how it workedI read we might hear him commit soon. 6'8" tall for a center? Wow! I really hope that he isn't that damn desperate?Of course, I like the idea of Pope looking internationally for talent upgrade to our roster, but I am not that impressed with Santos. Seems like we need to do better, but I could be wrong.

For reference, Pates stat line: 13 points on 16 shots, 2/10 from inside the arc, 5/16 overall. 0/1 FT, 3 ast, 3 TO.I remember when Pope went and saw Dink Pate play, Dink had an absolute stinker of a stat line while Kennedy Chandler (former Vol) dropped 30+ on him. Nor does your toxic positivity bring anything good. Like I said, Pope could have flown to Israel to scout a one-legged midget and you'd be fawning all over him. Not sure what your angle is other than play acting at being some kind of insider but you're pretty much a dope. You must be looking in the mirror again. Negativity brings nothing good into the world. TLDR version when all you do is complain things will never get better, you have to let yourself also see positives in life. If you try it you might actually like it.
Is he better tha Potter. Potter is bigger and has played college hoops and is a good three point shooter. No doubt Moreno needed a backup besides Potter but we really need a stud game changer.
Surely Pope didn’t give him the same pep talk he gives our team before we get down by twenty points in the first half.Marcio Santos today with Pope watching

An Israeli sports reporter called him desperate, so…6'8" tall for a center? Wow! I really hope that he isn't that damn desperate?
It’s sad that the staff went 0-14 for their major targets in the 26 class, so now they have to use these money ball analytics. Writings on the wall, this won’t last at UK.As much as people on here want to believe it’s not like Pope is scrambling chasing after anyone and everyone. Plays limited minutes. He isn’t a scrub, played summer league 3 years ago with NBA. Good rotational piece but not the needle mover fans are looking for.Well he averages less than 7points and 2 rebounds against the better competition, so I'm not exactly sure what Pope was hoping to see today.

Come on now. This can’t be true. That dude in the picture is old enough to be on social security. Someone please tell me this is a joke..

FIFYPope went all the way to Israel to watch an old man not score a point with a stat line of 0-2 FG 0-1 3pts 0-4 free throws? How much did that cost the university?
I was thinking the same thing. I am assuming he traveled on a private jet. I could see it if Pope was chasing a top tier tallent, but this guy is a 6'8" center and didn't put up impressive numbers. This reads more like Pope finally read the room and said get me out of the country for a few days. I can't believe the University would greenlight the travel expense required to go meet with this player in Israel.
If the expansion to 76 games happens and Pope sneaks into the tournament and keeps his job, I hope the expansion doesn’t take affect in 2027.Disagree. Don't see him moving the needle next season at all. Barring any significant gets, the roster next season is a big, fat "Meh." Mid-table SEC at best, NCAA tourney bubble team. Although, maybe we can sneak in if the expansion to 76 teams starts next year.![]()
The issue is that this roster has ZERO needle movers and three "maybe could be good this year" guys in Moreno. N'Diaye and Wilkins.Plays limited minutes. He isn’t a scrub, played summer league 3 years ago with NBA. Good rotational piece but not the needle mover fans are looking for.
