Haven't seen a single person calling for Cal to come back. But if you have it please send my way so I can berate whatever fool is calling for that
We will not be making any contacts until we get a new AD. Do you really think Mitch would be making calls to coaching prospects when he will not be here when a new coach is hired? I am not sure Mitch would be searching for potential coaches even if he were going to be here. We, UK basketball program, is just treading water and we need to be swimming forward. Barnhart is and has been the bottleneck for our KY Athletics for years.
My first two choices.
1. Billy D (will be the best and most experience Coach available, obvious choice. Not sure if he would take the job. If he did take the job, you probably get an elite 10 year run from him).
2. Jai Lucas (looks like the best young up-and-coming coach right now. He has shown to be an elite recruiter. Has good pedigree, his dad was a long time NBA player/Coach. He was an assistant under Cal and K.

This new era in College sports is not to my liking. Players are just mercenaries and whoever is willing to spend the most money wins. It looks like the Vols are cracking our piggy bank for the first time in history, but any big winning will ring hollow to me as it will be bought and paid for. Maybe, the only thing that is changing is the illusion of amateur athletics has finally been stripped away. Regardless, my interest is wanning.
I miss the old Rivals forums with all the passion and debate. I am still on Volquest, but rarely on the forums.
I know Cat fans are in misery, but CBB is just too important to Kentuckians to stay in limbo forever. The state power brokers will not allow UK to not be a player for too long, just too much passion in your base.

People are legitimately making the case/argument to reach out to Cal to gauge interest in if he wants to come back? Or are people simply saying "i wish we had Cal back". HUGE difference. And to my original point, I dont think a single person on this forum is seriously advocating for reaching out to Calipari to see if he would come back.
