...at a certain point you gotta try here right? Hasn't gone in 2 weeks as we've blown leads left and right
Announcers in the Saturday match indicated Dark had not been available for quite a while, implying injury.

Swept. Tight game today. 5-4.
Yet again we lead in the 6th, VT takes the lead in the bottom. We load the bases in the 7th but cant score and lose the game.

This one was not a walk-off, but another heartbreaker none the less.

On the bright side, LeGette homers yet again, holding at 4th nationally with 26 knocks.

Her pretty amazing batting results on Sunday
  1. solo homer 1st inning
  2. single in 3rd, RBI, later runs in on a Tarpey triple to tie 3-3
  3. sac fielder's choice, RBI in 5th for 4-3 lead
  4. walked in 7th, her pinch runner was on 2nd base when the game ended
She literally had a hand in all 4 runs yesterday.

The regular season is over , here are LeGette's national stats as of right now:
  • 1st nationally in Sac Flies (9) - 1st in ACC - UNC Record (was Kristen Brown 2016)
  • 4th in HR (26) - 1st in ACC - UNC record (was Kristen Brown 2015)
  • 4th in slugging percentage (1.121) - 1st in ACC - UNC record (was Christine Kubin 1996)
  • 5th in RBI (74) - 1st in ACC - UNC Record (was Kendra Lynch 2017)
  • 14th in BA (.470) - 3rd in ACC - 2nd all-time at UNC (Christine Kubin 1996)
  • 14th in on base percentage (.571) - 2nd in ACC - 2nd all-time at UNC (Christine Kubin 1996)
  • 17th in walks per game (.88; 43 total) - 1st in ACC - 2nd all-time at UNC (Berlynne Delamora 2017)

Thompson is:
20th nationally in batting average (.460) - 4th in ACC, 3rd all-time at UNC
3rd nationally in hits (81) - tied for 1st in ACC - 2nd all-time at UNC (Tiffany Toleson 2002)

UNC finishes the regular season with 97 HRs, a program record. (92 in 2015)

KRD and Nikki Harris are both out with injury. It will be a while for Harris and KRD is day by day.

Livengood is going to be legit, if we would have pitched her more during our preseason she may be even better at this point.

I am frustrated that we have a stellar offense and defense, and our deepest position is our worst. I am not sure why we have not thrown Parrish and Downing more. Frost go to is her rise and screwball and the continues to leave it hanging. Maxton has a drop ball that, again, is left hanging.

These are simple mechanics Holub should have corrected by now.

I expect Parrish to transfer out. Unless she has been injured? She is someone who I believe openly expected to be playing in the field and hitting outside of her pitching duties.

This team CAN make a run in the ACC tournament. We are good enough offensively. But we have got to have the best pitching of the season to do so.

KRD gets hammered when she leaves balls over the plate becuase she has so much speed, just a little contact does a lot. IMO, a KRD that is "on" and Livengood are our best bet to make a deep run.

I to wont be surprised if Parrish leaves....as well as a couple fo freshmen arms that have not seen time but have seen their upperclassment struggle. Those arms needed to get game experience and have not gotten it.

I like MSL and Corey...but I think Holub needs to move on. It may have worked at Marshall, but UNC is a P5 ACC program that should be striving for championships in every sport. Our pitching is not competitive.

volleyballer1, I do not care who UNC brings in as the HC. Pitching is going to be a problems and it is not the HC fault IMO. She needs NIL money to fix this. Our top brass for some unknown reason decided to pump all of the money into Football which is mediocre right now, men's basketball, baseball, and a small percentage in women's basketball and that it. Megan and staff is not working with a full deck of cards. If this is not fixed then this is where we will be moving forward.

They appear to put no money into the program. Anderson is dump, one of the cheapest outdated softball stadiums in the country. They did build indoor batting cage years ago. AD let Donna run program into ground. Not make her actually earn the money she was being paid. Ignored this program for decade. They didn't win. The sport has really blown up. It's after thought at UNC. The Alum hire was one of very little people interested in the job.

Softball and Rowing were earmarked as the next two programs in line for a facilities upgrade two years ago in the Ath Dept master plan.

With that said, since then we have tried to fast track the Dean Dome replacement which will surely dominate capital expenses over the next 3-4 years. I don't know if they will do concurrent projects, but I doubt it.

So if you consider all the information that has been presented above and the fact that Megan and her staff helped Kate R earned Softball America First Team All-America Honors last year and now this year, Emily L. is a finalist for the top college softball player of the year this year, Keep in mind both of these players transferred in for the final year, that should tell you something about Megan and her staff. They are doing an exceptional job with little to none resources from the AD and top brass to help them. This is just pathetic and a crying same that the people who are in charge won't help her program out at all.

Similar discussion with the volleyball job… when people found out the poor level of support and funding they barely had anyone left. If they wanted Schall they would have named him nearly immediately. They settled for Schall, and thankfully it’s working out OK to start (some question marks though).

As I stated. I have no problem with MSL. But her staff "not working with a whole deck of cards," is not true. KRD, Maxton have both regressed from thier forms last year, and where is the freshmen development? We waited until April to bring Livengood off the bench and she has proven to pitch better than any of our other pitchers. As a PITCHING Coach, it is your job to correct the mecahnics of the pitchers on YOUR staff. No reason that players should be displaying the same issues in April as they showed in February. You take the players you have and make them better. IMO that has not happened with Holub the last two years. Oh, and offensively, we have been doing just fine with the deck of cards we have in Corey who works with the same resources as Holub.

Do I agree Softball gets shortchanged for money? Absolutely. And money talks. We will not be elite until we get more competitive NIL. However, no one can look at UNC Softball and say that pitching isnt the issue and if Corey can make a top offense and Kiwi a strong defense with the money they have, than Holub can develop at least a competitive pitching staff.

The good thing for the ACCT is we'll only be playing top 30 RPI teams, would think we probably need to win at least 2 to have a chance?
