Imo. That's on Bill. They should have had him forfeited out the rest of the senior open. He has been really gassed all day
100%. That was stupid to have him doing both. Kid is extremely good but not ready to win seniors. Concentrate on making a U20 team and winning a world medal. He still can but just made it more difficult. Wrestling seniors the first day was fine but no need to continue today

He is really REALLY good. Too bad his social media was his downfall. :)
I have no problem with Bassett's social media, he seems like a fine young man to me. Love his work ethic and relentless style of wrestling. His mom viciously personally attacking anybody online who questioned why her son(s) are 2yrs older than their classmates and Mr. Bassett's (rumored) demands are not cool. Cut the cord.

IMO Joe Sealey is the poster child for why top caliber wrestlers who don’t instantly find a home in the PSU starting lineup don’t quickly head for the portal. The room in State College is so much more than a college wrestling cage. Folkstyle training ground, freestyle training ground. Family.

For those who watched, does it look like Kazak’s and Barr’s injuries will keep them out of WTT as well? Assuming they are done for this summer?

Final X

61 Blaze vs winner WTT

70 Lovett vs winner WTT
74 Green vs winner WTT
79 Haines vs Marsteller

Will the five weights with Final X already determined be contested at WTT?

Barr missed out on his only path to final x with Hidlay sitting at final x already. Kasak could go to WTT to get there, but it seems unlikely.

I assume that Sealey's 3rd place finish qualifies him for WTTs. His only loss was to Green, who now sits in Final-X.

Duke and Mitch can go; anyone else?

@Corby2 or anyone else that seems to know these kinds of things… any word on how badly Spencer hurt his arm in last night’s match?

Thanks

Final-X at 65, 79, 86, 92, and 97 are locked in, so that eliminates a path for several of them.

If Duke and MM go at WTT there is a decent shot the NLWC will have a rep on the world team in 6 out of the first 7 weights. Just incredible

I’m super high on Henckel and have said in the past that I think he’s a title contender next year. This tournament does nothing to change my mind. A few seconds away from beating Kennedy and losing a super tight one to Wick. After watching Asher and seeing the improvements he has made in the last year makes me think he might just beat Henckel for the 174 spot though. His trajectory is straight up. Kid is a monster. Either way I think our 174 next year is going to be in title contention
