I mostly drink Gansett and PBR

Edit: and I can often get it for $1 per can, which is wild if those 70s prices are right

Looked it up, avg six pack in 1985 was $4.30. Based on memory I was going to guess we paid 10 bucks a 12 pack for our illegal beer in high school, that’s about right. 20 bucks a case. Had a friend named Lurch who was 6-6 and looked about 40 years old in high school, never got carded.

I clearly remember paying $7.99 for 12 packs of Bud Light cans at the Shell on Russell Street in the late 80's. The verbal assault was legendary when my dad figured out all those 7.99 plus tax charges on his "Shell gas card" were not for gas.

I still get 12 pack of bottles of High Life for ~$10 regularly. No better beer after cutting the grass in the heat

Milwaukee’s Best around 9/10 dollars a case at Sack n Save by Corky’s late 80s early 90s.
That was the cheap go to beer in college. Seems like every keg party was Miller Lite. Old Style has vague memories of vomiting or next day diarrhea.

actually I think warm old style is the first beer i Ever drank

One of my favorite old haunts would give you a shot of Jim Beam and a Pabst Blue Ribbon for $2.

Cheap drunks. Good times.

Back in the 70's you couldn't get Coors east of the Mississippi river. My uncle was a student at Alabama back then. He paid a guy to drive down to New Orleans, buy Coors, and drive it back to Tuscaloosa. Then sold it for a dollar a bottle to frat boys there.

You could get a six pack of Milwaukee’s best from the Asian grocery in Belzoni for $3.75 in 1996. Tasted and smelled like the cat crap that it was surrounded by in the store but we didn’t complain much.

Schlitz was and still is the best tasting beer of those shown. That's something Grandpa and I always agreed on.

This was my high school beer. I'd almost always throw up froth and foam, probably from drinking it too fast and it not being cold enough, after the first one. After that I was good to go.

In 1981 Coors came to Mississippi and Starkville. The problem in Starkville was that it was unpasteurized and the morons that passed the law required no refrigeration of beer in the stores. So all this beer that was supposed to stay refrigerated was sitting on the shelves getting skunky.

I still have one of those huge beer goblets with Coors on it that I got from Oby's during that initial push into MS.

Otherwise I probably drank Busch mostly when I had a choice back then. Now if it ain't dark amber or darker I am probably not drinking it.

I still like Miller High Life. The local Dollar General had 8 packs of High life tallboy cans for $6.75 a few weeks ago. I bought the only three 8 packs that they had.

Drank it. If I remember correctly it was The Jitney Jungle.
I think it was the same owners, but I think they called it Warehouse Food Center or something similar. Had one on Ellis Avenue at I 20 also. Couldn't remember that name when I made the original post, but I believe it was something along those lines.

I used to occasionally enjoy The Champagne of Beers until a friend said it tasted like drinking a cheese burger. Now, I can't drink one.

Pretty sure it was “Sack & Save” at the corner of Blackjack and 12.

They Also had Natty light in bottles for $8.95/12 pack. Drank a metric **** ton at that price.
I think Jitney Jungle was out on 25 where Kroger eventually was. It was a Dirt Cheap last time I went through there.
