yuup, it was so much better when someone had to jump across the river to get the tan can. Same when Yuengling hadn't made it to the 'Sip, but you could load up at the WalMart in T-town on the way home from the ATL.Way back ...Schlitz, PBR..., Bud, .... Had to go to Oklahoma to get Coors.

I had a Lurch too. SHS?Looked it up, avg six pack in 1985 was $4.30. Based on memory I was going to guess we paid 10 bucks a 12 pack for our illegal beer in high school, that’s about right. 20 bucks a case. Had a friend named Lurch who was 6-6 and looked about 40 years old in high school, never got carded.
I clearly remember paying $7.99 for 12 packs of Bud Light cans at the Shell on Russell Street in the late 80's. The verbal assault was legendary when my dad figured out all those 7.99 plus tax charges on his "Shell gas card" were not for gas.Looked it up, avg six pack in 1985 was $4.30. Old Style was good stuff. Found some in Missouri 15 years ago and brought some back for my brother.Where’s the Old Style and Black Label beers? Them’s high falutin beers right there!
Bud light Ice for my first beer. We didn't know any better..First beer I ever had me & 2 buddies split two 8-packs of Miller Light ponies. Good times.
That was the cheap go to beer in college. Seems like every keg party was Miller Lite. Old Style has vague memories of vomiting or next day diarrhea.Milwaukee’s Best around 9/10 dollars a case at Sack n Save by Corky’s late 80s early 90s.
In my defense, I didn’t even know we’d be drinking that night. Not that I’d have known what was a good beer anyway.Bud light Ice for my first beer. We didn't know any better..
You could get a six pack of Milwaukee’s best from the Asian grocery in Belzoni for $3.75 in 1996. Tasted and smelled like the cat crap that it was surrounded by in the store but we didn’t complain much.Looked it up, avg six pack in 1985 was $4.30. Drank it. If I remember correctly it was The Jitney Jungle. There was a grocery at the corner of Hwy 12 & Blackjack in the mid 80's that sold generic beer. It was a black and white can and all it said was "beer" Something like this View attachment 1268382
I think it was the same owners, but I think they called it Warehouse Food Center or something similar. Had one on Ellis Avenue at I 20 also. Couldn't remember that name when I made the original post, but I believe it was something along those lines.Drank it. If I remember correctly it was The Jitney Jungle.
I still like Miller High Life. The local Dollar General had 8 packs of High life tallboy cans for $6.75 a few weeks ago. I bought the only three 8 packs that they had.
I think Jitney Jungle was out on 25 where Kroger eventually was. It was a Dirt Cheap last time I went through there.Pretty sure it was “Sack & Save” at the corner of Blackjack and 12.
They Also had Natty light in bottles for $8.95/12 pack. Drank a metric **** ton at that price.
