I counted the Mississippi State game twice and this isn't even a rebuttal against anything I said? He was effective when he was featured more
IMO I was expecting more from him than scoring against way lesser competition so either way, you take out his high/low game in this stretch he averages under double figures 9.7. Again being featured against less quality that’s listed the points are obvious it wasn’t mind blowing

I mean… ya’ll 7’5” is 7’5”….

He moves just as well as the Michigan lummox as far as 2 min of footage showed me.

Wonder what it feels like when your supposed to be the man. Like more important than the governor. But you just don't got it and you aren't the man. Popes smart enough to understand everyone is against him right now.

Gotta be one of the worst feelings.
Handicapped by historic injury issues against the two most difficult schedules in school history and the "fans" that "back" your team do nothing but trash you and the team. It can't be a great feeling.

I've never seen a coach, or player critisize other coaches and players, because they know how hard this is.
I'd say you've not been around enough coaches and players then. Part of my job, a big part of my job, is being critical of my players. Then them taking that critique and using the things we do (and on their own) to improve. In my profession, we call that coaching. Tbf, on here, I'm not a coach. I'm just any fan. On no planet is Mark Pope my peer.

AAAAAAAND Kam wasn’t brought in for scoring but carry on coach
He doesn't do the other things all that well either. That's the issue. He isn't AWFUL. But when you're a 3 and D guy and both the 3 AND the D (more to D than just defending the ball) are less than good, it's an issue. There's promise, yes. But man, promise is a helluva long way from 40ish games of results.

To use a fancy all-in-one stat from CBB Analytics called DRAPM (defined as a player’s impact on their team’s points allowed per 100 possessions below the division average), Williams posted a number of 4.2, which ranked him in the 99th percentile among all guards. He stays in front of his man and can create havoc through steals and blocks.

Seems like a good defender

Didn't I just say he was a good on ball defender? (which, btw, is what that stat...however hokey, and it's hokey...is used for)

You didn’t you said less than good
No no no...I thought I said in an earlier post he was a good on ball defender. He is. But he's not that great of a rebounder. That's a big part of being a good defender. The stat you referenced is an NBA stat (designed for an NBA season with NBA defensive rules). If I didn't say that about him on the ball, that's my fault. He's very good on the ball. To be fair, overall he's probably better than "less than good" defensively. But he's not a good rebounder at all, and that hurts. If we had an Oscar, it probably wouldn't matter (see Toppin). But we have a Moreno, and he's not a very good rebounder either. Which is why the team, despite his seriously limitations, was way better when MO played. It doesn't matter how good your first shot defense is, it's darned near impossible to get a stop w/o pulling the board.

Just let it play out.

As someone who is just letting it play out, that style is not something this fanbase does.

Getting worked into a tizzy several times a day is apparently the way to go about it.

I have been saying since the ISU game that a third year is happening and to just take a wait and see approach. We’re either where we’re hoping to be and everyone is happy or we’re worse than last year and Pope is fired, which will make many folks happy.

It's a message board. What else is there to talk about except what is going on in the off season? Things aren't going well so far, so obviously people are going to talk about it. This isn't rocket science. I know you like to act all high and mighty and self righteous like you're above it all. We get it. You whine every day how you're tired of the whining.
And judging by this account being 6 hours old, you crash out so hard you get banned all the time.

Not just banned. He creates new accounts even when not banned after enough people ignore him and he’s not getting the reactions he wants.
Guy is mentally ill.

It’s kind of sad that someone, assuming a grown adult, so desperately seeks negative attention on a message board that they have to create sock accounts daily for engagement purposes.

You are right that Kam is not a good rebounder, and that it is an important facet for a 3-4-5 guy.

But you are wrong saying Moreno is "not a very good rebounder". Moreno is actually a decent rebounder. He's no Oscar, but who is, Oscar was a once-a-generation rebounder. Moreno averaged 8.4 reb per30min. Where does that place him among other UK bigs the past 15 years?
Ranked in order (guys who played>15mpg, # after name says which year at UK):

If I’m the AD, I’m calling Donovan yesterday and working a deal, and moving on from Pope!

If we are going to waste another year just to waste another year, you hire Donovan and he gets a mulligan for the lack of timing to recruit, and the fact that Pope would be leaving him next to no one generally speaking.

Or, wait until next season and potentially have to fight off Kansas and maybe Florida, and totally miss the boat on the guy for an unprecedented 3rd coaching search!

There’s No Brainers, and then there’s this💯💯

Unfortunately the only way we’re getting out of this coaching tenure is if CMP resigns. And it looks like you’ll have to take it away from him, he seems to have no intention of resigning, the program’s wellbeing be damned.

If CMP had his way, he’d never leave, regardless of the results.

Dynes averaged 2ppg, and everyone comparing McBride to Alamanor, whom IMO was a total bust, he averaged 5ppg and was absolutely invisible during most games.
Almanor Avg 3.4 FG Attempts per game and made 1.7 per game that's 50% and he shot 42% from behind the 3pt line also 90% from the FT and you think that's a bust from a bench player who played 14 mins per game 😂 Everything makes sense now.

Compared to what many expected, yes, he was, he was a marginal player from an impact standpoint.
