And firefighters
I literally heard a radio ad for OFD the other day...they were saying how they were hiring.

"All you have to do is be 19 and you can apply today to join the omaha fire department."

They talked about the amazing hours and how little work you actually do...then they said the starting salary

Starting Salary: $69,334.72 (2026)

I literally almost drove head on into the stupid omaha street car, which is also an draining tax payer money...the only difference is the street car doesn't park in front of a HyVee to pick up food for the guys back at the firehouse.

Why?

Why is that best "best thing for him". By all accounts (the real ones, not the fake ones) he is enjoying his life, he is super rich and set forever.
Frost doesn't need to succeed at UCF or any other coaching job to be super rich and set forever financially. But if his public messaging of what he learned from his Nebraska tenure are an indication of his abilities to accept responsibility for his shortcomings/actions in life he's got an uphill road to long-term happiness as most people don't like hanging around and maintaining long-term relationships with people that lack accountability. Failure at UCF may require him to own up to some things in life and not use stick like - it wasn't me, it was the wrong job.

Yes, the most famous/recognizable man in the state, one so fiercely private that he refused to talk about his family or private life, refused to answer questions about them...refused to do pretty much any public appearance...

Was also a "local" at a sushi bar place...5 minutes from the stadium. And yet, not one picture has ever surfaced of him being out in public at any bar and/or golf course.

The only people that tell more stories about "what you want to hear" than bartenders...are strippers.
So the Riolas were lying about Scott being drunk and blowing off a top recruit? All the people that saw him coming to practice late? And being hungover , unprepared slob at big 10 media days? Thats all rumor? He went from fit guy who could power clean 3 plates to a bloated puffy alcoholic mess

There is no record of an official, public statement directly from the Raiola family naming Scott Frost as drunk. However, these rumors, which circulated in late 2022 and beyond, reflect a significant moment in the breakdown of the relationship between Frost and key recruits during his time at Nebraska (Unless you have that proof?)

Hungover at Big Ten media days? Proof? I mean, he totally looked like a slob and blew it off, but that doesn't mean he was hungover.

Not power cleaning 3 plates at 50, with a wife and kids? Shocked!

You don't find it odd that he was out at the local bars "all the time" getting hammered and there has not been one picture posted???

The sad fact is had he not drank and partied, and had he worked his a$s off at rebuilding the program, he had a chance to become a super hero in this State. He would have been the toast of the town and gotten super fat raises. But his demons got him and he missed a chance at greatness. Hard to watch such self-destruction.
Why haven’t we seen one single picture of him doing the things he’s accused of?

especially now that he’s persona non grata

but now that we hate the Raiolas and their scheming ways how do we reconcile this?

is it possible Frost thought Dylan didn't actually walk on water, like most of this board currently does?

Same is said for presidents

Perhaps he cared too much? Attempting to be TO’s prodigal son is stressful, I imagine.

The glaring lack of evidence is pretty loud compared to the “smoke”

Look at his face and physique

He went from confident and healthy stud athlete

To confused paunchy puffy drunk

pretty obvious
I thought he would do well- his character caught up with him. Lawrence Phillips crawling up his balcony- Scott hiding in the closet- thats him- and she was very ****** to boot

I thought the guy was on his way to a bad ending when they didn’t even bother fixing his truck from his latest drunken mistake before they fired him. He literally got in the truck and drove off. Hopefully his boys Davison and Bruning got him help and straightened out

Nope

Just another ‘coincidence” lol

We went from a lollipop check collecting beta Prius owner

It’s truely remarkable how resilient and supportive our fans have been.

Ehhhh, I have a hard time believing any of those stories...

Riley sucked here (for the most part) and Rhule sucks here. Frost really sucked here. By all accounts, Riley and Rhule are super great guys, hard working and super professional.

More than likely, all 3 are just lame at coaching and not horrible cheating husbands (that doesn't even matter), hard core drinkers (also don't matter) and addicted to golf.

Don't mention "nice Mike" and Rhule in the same breath as Scott. He was far worse. With more support and leash.

We are or was ready to "run" both those guys after 2 or 3 years while Frost got "we'll get em next year" and "attaboys" from his minions still looking for a "local guy does well" story.

I don't think Riley was a good coach. Matt Rhule so far hasn't been what I'd call good either. But frost was HORRIBLE!

I can even say that and separate the coach from the player. I'll always appreciate what Frost the player did in Lincoln. But Frost the coach? TRASH ! Probably did as much harm to the university as any coach we've ever had.

Again, I am not even saying that he didn't go and drink and do some stuff.

But it is just SHOCKING that it would NEVER ONCE have been caught by the camera of a cell phone.

And the stories are ALWAYS a friend of a friend...always those type of stories.

If there were any “bad” Chuck Norrisisms, Husker fans could fill them all with Pelini and Frost rumors.

Frost was an awful coach, but turning him into Richard Harris is kinda laughable.

Yeah this is probably one of those classic "three sides to every story" type deals. His side, the fans' side, and somewhere in the middle is the truth.

I know a family member of his who vehemently denies all the drinking stories and very much blames the administration for his failures. And yeah, I think the closest thing anyone has ever had to real "proof" of any of it was the one hot mic on the radio show talking about him banging a coed at the lake one time. And that one story is a far cry from how bad all the rumors have made him out to be.

That said, there does seem to be at least some smoke with all the rumors that have been swirling ever since.

I know, as a society these days, everyone wants blame to be placed definitively on one extreme side or the other. But in this case, there's probably a middle ground.

This will be unpopular but I would rather hear about how coaches drink and play golden tee instead of the BS from them about working 26 hours a day and sleeping in the offices.

At least one of those doesn't make me roll my eyes.

With that said, just win ******* games. That is all any of us fans want.
Sleeping on the couch in the office because it’s too dangerous to drive after getting too deep into a case of natty lite

I am guessing a lot of middle ground.

I mean, one of the "stories" was that Frost and Davison literally vandalized a lincoln golf course, were totally hammered, the cops were ALMOST called to have them both hauled off but in the end, they were just asked to leave.

I mean, come on. Today if a dude in line at a Casey's starts mouthing off, it is on TikTok within 5 minutes.

I have zero idea if any or all the rumors of Frosts off the field shenanigans are true or not, but there are two facts that epitomize Scott Frost to me. 1) He sucked as a coach at NU - his record speaks for itself on that. 2) When asked on record about what he learned from his time at NU, the best he could muster up after two years of time off to reflect was "don't take the wrong job."

I think you bring up a good point here that I want to expand on. Mike Riley and Matt Rhule indeed are good guys, hard working, professional.. and their average winning percentages at one time I checked, were about the same.. There is a bell curve for coaches and by the nature of the game, the average coach is going to win about half the time.. it's kind of a natural outcome of a 2 participant, win or lose game.

So what is different with Scott? He wasn't old enough, mature enough, or ready for that job by what Bill stated in his book.

So here a few facts that I went and looked up:

Current College winning % Current age
Mike Riley .531 (72)
Scott Frost .471 (51)
Matt Rhule .516 (51)

Did you know that Scott is actually 1 month older than Matt?

granted age and maturity level are very different things, but I thought it was interesting that Matt is actually the youngest of the 3.

We got lot's of pictures of Scott where he looked Hung Over AF.. you can see it in a person's face. I didn't need pics of him in a bar.. it's just like any other celebrity, they do not go to public spaces to get hammered, it's all done privately. You think he was playing gerneral slots in vegas? c'mon, they have private areas for celebs, for exactly this reason... nobody is going to get pics of this stuff.

No...because it has been posted here over and over that Frost was out at the bars in Lincoln, all the time, partying.

In fact two posters here, one being @davecisar said he drinks at the same spot and sits in the same exact seat where Frost was a "regular".

Also, Frost is not "famous" outside of Nebraska. That would be like thinking that Frazier is famous outside of Nebraska. Frost is rich but not "famous"

Now, if you want to do some digging and find the "hungover" pictures, feel free to post them. But I am guessing that most of us, if we are in front of the camera enough, will have more than a few pictures where we look "bad"

I think he makes a valid point though...not that NU is "the wrong job" but that it was the wrong job for him.

You could tell, right away, that he HATED the attention and coverage.
