How serious is this 5 for 5 deal with the NCAA? Could Fred be saving a spot for Jmar? I have no clue, just wondering.I think we have one more roster spot available. I would like to see an athletic guard who can take it to the basket and get to the free throw line. We have plenty of shooters, but I feel like we could use another guy who can create. Frager is really the only one we have with that ability, unless Lanier can come in and crack the rotation.
Another big guy would also be nice, since we don't know if Uggy will be healthy, and we don't know if Curtis is going to be ready to play a lot of minutes. I'm hoping Curtis can make a big leap this offseason like Aday Mara did for Michigan last year.
But - I'm not sure we have much money left in the budget. It would probably have to be an under-the-radar guy. Maybe Virgilio can find a European player or something.
Wouldn't you save a spot for Sam too?How serious is this 5 for 5 deal with the NCAA? Could Fred be saving a spot for Jmar? I have no clue, just wondering.
I think we still pick up 1 or 2 more but probable starters are done. We'll see if Lawrence gets additional yearSomeone who knows the numbers. Are we done now?
I really get tired of hearing this “upside potential” assessment when it is based on a guess. Don’t all athletes have “upside potential?Been injured but he’s a mature body with upside potential. My guess is he fits under the salary cap number and gives us depth. He’s likely a replacement for Garcia’s role.
Nice looking forward to next year thinking the tourney is likely.Fred doing work.
What an amazing Spring for us Husker fans.

@Bloody Run Hawk Iowa still sucks
Interesting choice, can’t help to think this seems a little odd.
Good conference, program on the rise, chance to spend a year in a really cool city. I can see the appeal.
He’s a big physical player who was a highly recruited guy out of high school. Unfortunately for him he battled injuries for his first couple of years. He can fill Garcia’s role off the bench. Play D, rebound and 5 fouls to use. Nobody is penciling him in as a starter BUT Fred and multiple other P4 coaches viewed him as that coming out of high school. He has the upside potential to give us Garcia’s minutes and he’s costing us the league minimum. Cost of attendance.I really get tired of hearing this “upside potential” assessment when it is based on a guess. Don’t all athletes have “upside potential?
A Vandy degree might be better than some of the Ivy ones. Not to mention a borderline Ivy League education/degree. But, yeah other than all that, how weird.
Played the same level of Competition as someone like Stirtz before he went to Iowa CityMy concern would be the level of competition he did that against. No doubt a better sample than a high schooler but….. The physicality of the B1G is a whole different beast.
LOL, yea he went their to get a degree right.Hilarious that people think any of these basketball players care about a degree. Berke hadn't even bothered to declare a major in his 2 years at NU. No one in Turkey cares about a degree from Vandy. Berke will likely go play in Europe after next year and hang around as long as he can.
I think everyone is waiting on the NCAA to grant the medical waiver. So is Ugg still on the team?
I sure hope so. Mast moved like a 43 year old with a bad back.Kapke looks more athletic than Reink based on his highlight tape.
He had a meniscus transplant from a dead person. They said cartilage transplant so I’m assuming meniscus. No other place that I’m aware of to replace damaged cartilage in your leg. I’m shocked that he played at all. Joint replacement soon to be in his future. I’ve read about experimental synthetic meniscus replacement but don’t know if even that is being done.I sure hope so. Mast moved like a 43 year old with a bad back.
Everyone should be kissing his *** due what that kid went through to get back on the court and help Nebraska to a historic season.I sure hope so. Mast moved like a 43 year old with a bad back.
Long, and strong, and down to get the friction on.Yeah they’re long. Is our point guard strong with the ball when the stripes are letting the old guard teams mug him?
Long, and strong, and down to get the friction on.
Would be nice to add one more ball-handler, if Leonhardt or Cale go down, we will be very limited at the point position.
I see that Owen Freeman is going to Auburn? Kind of surprising, he was terrible at Creighton this year
Yeah I'm surprised Freeman got any power conference offers at all. Auburn better hope for a miracle bounceback season, because he regressed at Iowa and was absolutely awful at Creighton.Leaving Creighton $1.8 million richer than he was before though.
Incredible...
