Are you Confident We Get Freeman?

Had no choice but vote “no” but dear God I hope I’m wrong. No inside information from me. We don’t have recruiting connections here in my parent’s basement but it doesn’t look good according to MJ.

[ChocoChicken]

Not now.

[UKCowboys]

I think that ship has sailed. I would offer the most we can muster for Muurinen and see if that would get it done. Past that its McBride, revisiting Mo, or Euro

[MidseasonTweak]

No. Too much time has passed. His agent won't allow him to make the right decision.

[true-blue1]

Not now. I hope they have a good back up plan!

[MdWIldcat55]

Yes.

There's more drama on this board than at a sleepover for 11-year-old girls.

There was bound to be last minute posturing by Freeman's agent. That's the nature of the beast. Keep your nerve folks.

He'll be a Cat tomorrow.

[Iroquois Pliskin]

Seems like the two sides are just negotiating. I have no idea but id say it gets done

[#1 cat fan]

Worst decision ever. Not taking a recruit when they want to commit and waiting on a dude that ain't coming

[jmw23712]

I hope not at this point. Last years team supposedly had locker room drama and it seems like that’s what Freeman is gonna bring. We need a unit that can play together, not me first guys.

Heard that yesterday

[true-blue1]

There was a reason UConn and Bama said No to Freeman.

[JLucky1]

Just my opinion but at this point if he wanted to be here he would be here. Hope I am wrong.

Rancik was the backup plan…

[CatsWin2K]

It's over!

[TheApostleSaulSmith]

I’m about 50/50. Less optimistic than I had been

He should have been the primary plan. He was a better fit.

Just like many said about Diallo .

Same, the longer it drags the less I feel we get him.

Ugh, these agents and this era sucks.

[FitchandMurray29]

I think so.

Both sides are pretty far down their path to finishing this commitment. Restarting negotiations, more visits, etc probably isn’t in either party’s best interests.

I’d make one more concession or bump in pay for negotiations and be done.

Probably start getting in line for Milan/Graves while going through the Euro options over the coming weeks while focusing on the other holes in the meantime if he goes elsewhere.

[TheApostleSaulSmith]

Just like many said about Diallo .

That’s a fair point
This Freeman situation is different though. Some behind the scenes shenanigans

[UKgrad22]

If Donnie falls through, staff should pivot as fast as humanly possible to reconnect with Paulius. Throw him whatever Donnie was going to get and then some and call it a day.

Doesn’t Graves need a waiver or something? He’d be incredible here imo

[TommyMansky]

So either way overpay for injury-riddled player or miss out? Grrrreat!!!!!! (Tony the Tiger)

Nope he’s just a RS freshman that’s going through the draft process. The initial linked teams were LSU and Duke. I think we could throw ourselves in there if Donnie falls through

How do you know we are overpaying

We should have been all over him from day one.

[Bkocats]

As much fun as it can be to watch who we may get I honestly have no expectations
I hate to say it, but my faith in the program is, shall we say, dormant
So no..I’m not confident

Portal season has been quite a letdown. After 1.5 kinda blah seasons.

[1BadCat]

I had high hopes, but they are fading.

Yeah I was hoping Pope would feel the urgency of how hot his seat is and really step it up in the portal. At this point I think he’s fine with getting overpaid for 1 more underwhelming season and heading back into Utah Valley level coaching.

Mo Williams do your thing

[AllBall]

Wilkins is the only guy who is coming from a winning team. That gives me some concern.
