Bill Madden in the NY Daily News had an article the other day that said there were 3 automatic outs in the Yanks line--Wells/Escarra, Grisham, and McMahon. Said people around the league were shocked at the offer for Grisham, given we have Jasonn Dominguez and Spencer Jones.Yankees just flat out suck! These are the batting averages of today starting lineup.
.133 .218 .241 .171 .000 .000 .114 .146 and Ben Rice at .356 That is some pathetic hitting. Boone has to do better than this. I can't stand him. Resting players this early in the season. A damn joke of a manager. And Hal and Cashman think he is so good.
I still think the Yanks were shocked that Grisham took the qualifying offer. Felt like they were doing what they needed to do to gain a piece of draft capital.Bill Madden in the NY Daily News had an article the other day that said there were 3 automatic outs in the Yanks line--Wells/Escarra, Grisham, and McMahon. Yeah, I am so far past done with Boonie and his continued spewing of the same crap after every single gameWell, that was a fun ending. Not often the Yankees get a gift to aid in a walk off. Some things back to normal. Stanton back in his ugly swing at everything and strike out every at bat. Crazy how he can be so locked in for a week or 2 then look like he is just learning the game of baseball. Gil still can't get through a lineup the 2nd time around, and Boone talking "the grind" after the game. smh If I hear that one more time you all will hear me scream! lol
I’ve been a Rice fan since he first came up. One time that analytics actually told the story. When he was up and down in the lineup, the BA and OBP were terrible but he was consistently hitting the ball hard. His average vs expected average had a Grand Canyon size difference. Others would have looked at stats and said “not good.” For once, analytics got it right once he started getting a few well earned breaks and has quietly been one of the best hitters in the game over the last 162Watching the Yankees right now and Rice is giving Judge a run for his money in home runs. Just 1 behind Judge. Instead of the M & M boys we have the J & R boys.
Big Rice fan as well. He has a really quick bat and pulls his hands in nicely on inside pitches. And he still has hit quite a few lasers right at fielders this year. Unluckiest due I've ever seen. My wife loves him because he is always grinning so hard in the dugout. lolI’ve been a Rice fan since he first came up. One time that analytics actually told the story. When he's not seeing the ball well....he guesses every pitchI can't help laughing at Stanton. Dude has some of the worst swings I've ever seen. Struck out 4 times last night but that last K had to be the worst swing I have ever seen at any level. Looked like a 6 year old taking his first swing ever. The ball bounced 3 feet in front of home plate and Stanton swung at it. As I busted out laughing I yelled, "WTF Stanton!" lmao I swear I think he decides before a ptich he is going to swing.
I was coming to post that the Yanks are starting to round into form with guys up and down the lineup starting to hit….and Stanton leaving a game with a leg issue, lolStanton. smh
Does Boone get a bonus every time he brings Cruz into a game? That guy is awful. Not only does he allow inherited runners to score which doesn't go on his ERA and skews that, but he allows his own runs. Two years of this from him now. What does Boone see in him because I see nothing of value other than eating innings in an apparent loss or win.
10 days ago the Yankees had the 8th best record in baseball. Now they have the 3rd best. Still alarming is that they are 1-5 against teams above .500. That was the issue last year regarding teams above .500. But let's run it back!
I'm one of those that thinks he hurts us more than he helps us and I'll be glad when he's gone. Running to first base killing that inning with a DP was pathetic. I'm 70 years old and can walk backwards faster than that and both of my feet are basically paralyzed. If he's not hitting home runs he's useless and he doesn't hit all that many.I was coming to post that the Yanks are starting to round into form with guys up and down the lineup starting to hit….and Stanton leaving a game with a leg issue, lol
That's why the Joe DiMaggio for Ted Williams trade was supposedly floated. Because Joe D, as a right-handed batter, would've raked with the Green Monster there, while Williams, as a left-handed batter, would've had even more HRs than he did with the short right-field wall in Yankee Stadium.Stanton loves....LOVES....hitting at Fenway.
While I was never a big fan of the Stanton acquisition, it always made sense for two (2) reasons:
(1) Marlins/Jeter traded him to the Yanks for the equivalent of a bag of scuffed up balls
(2) He was on his way to Boston if Marlins/Jeter didn't give Cashman a last second chance to intervene
Given how Stanton rakes at Fenway....even with all of his injuries.....he would have put up lights out numbers for all these years and rammed it up the Yanks keisters every single game there
Will NEVER happen. What radio station was this? Was listening to sports radio this morning and they discussing Cora as a potential replacement for Boone if he wasn’t to make it after this year. I personally would never want to see Cora in pinstripes.
