It's possible there were personality issues but, yes, I think that is likely correct -he wanted more money than Cincy wanted to pay him. It's like Alvaro for us. I'm sure Cincy offered him money to stay but he decided he could get even more money by transferring. The same thing happens in corporate america.

Indiana ( again) is in the process of replacing an entire team. I like DeVries but Mac already went into Bloomington and put an *** whipping on him. They are always going to get highly recruited players. It's Indiana. It's been 20 years since they've done anything.

We don't have a Mark Cuban or I'd bet we would have gotten our guys already.

I will be interested to see if DeVries can coach a high priced roster. I actually like the guy as well but he has never been in this situation before. You know what kind of guy Ben wants already......I don't know what kind of guy DeVries wants on the court. Right now it is high priced & high talented but not sure what else from a base standpoint. Be interesting to watch as their year unfolds.
With all the reports on the asking prices of some of these kids and having to pay to keep the roster we already have...who knows what is left. We probably have the money to get a couple good players but we probably don't have the money we need to get to players asking prices without some major negotiations. Indiana probably paid their portal targets asking prices I would guess.

Indiana won the portal olympics last year as well and we pasted them at their place and made the Elite 8 while they missed the tourney. I’ll trust Ben until he gives me a reason not to.
And Kentucky was considered one of the biggest winners too. $22 million to get their butts kicked by a clone team without their best player. And needed a 40 foot 3 to force ot and win 1 tourney game.

Except in this case, it’s like your wife has been shopping for about 20 minutes. I understand the impatience; and yes, some people find what they want that fast. But if you want to shop smartly, you’ve got to be willing to wait a little.

I have no inside info but I'm guessing that Iowa being the last place he visits is by design. Would not surprise me if BM asked to be last visit so that Coleman will have all the info he needs to make a decision.

TJ has a tremendous record on getting the players he singles out. Even so, it’s amazing that with two assistant coaches leaving for head coaching jobs, he was basically able to finish his portal recruiting before most schools had landed anyone.
