Pretty dull Masters this year. Not many pro golfers have any sizzle anymore. Very few with memorable personalities.
Once again demonstrating the kind of stupidity that has made you the least liked poster on these boards for decades now.

Nothing against Rory, but I was hoping he would screw the pooch on a couple of shots like last year to make things more interesting. Congratulations to him. Back-to back Masters are rare and an incredible accomplishment.

I thought the back and forth all day made for incredible theater and even at the end I was on the edge of my seat after Rory hit his driver so far right (I still think he should've teed off with an iron to eliminate a big number that likely only comes with a driver - he got very lucky he had a shot on 18). Incredible accomplishment to win the Masters twice in a row, as Nantz mentioned a few times - in good company with Jack, Nick, and Tiger. McIlroy may make it to 10 majors now that he's back on track.

Augusta doesn’t want to see a ridiculous score. They tried to get the winning score around low teens. Given the weather, they can make it as difficult as they want. Every Putt is a tester coming from above the hole. If you are not focused, it can make you look silly.

This. One of the guys on Golf Channel said an 10-15 handicap decent golfer would have a tough time shooting par at Augusta if their starting point on each hole was 50 yards from the green and that's probably true. If they didn't keep watering the course after the first round, some of those greens would've simply been unfair.

Nice field at The Heritage. 9 of FedEx Top 10 including Scheffler, Shauffele, Morikawa, Young, Bridgeman, and Chris.

Does Augusta have frisbee golf too?

Do you actually enjoy acting like a 9-year old dick all the time? I'll never understand the troll mentality.
Augusta, Georgia has frisbee golf
>Augusta, Georgia, is a premier destination for disc golf enthusiasts, offering a diverse array of courses that cater to players of all skill levels. The city boasts seven well-maintained courses, including four with 18 or more holes.
Notably, Augusta is home to the Professional Disc Golf Association's International Disc Golf Center,<

Something frisbee golf enthusiasts might not know about the Augusta National Golf Club and frisbee golf:unsure:
Though it isn't played there:
in 2022, a "frisbee golf" video was filmed t the Augusta National Golf Club featuring Dude Perfect and Bryson DeChambeau at Amen Corner (holes 11, 12, and 13)

May not have LIV to watch anymore if today's rumors of the Saudi's pulling out are true.

Wonder what happens to players like Dechambeau and Rahm. Will they still get those huge checks?

I think those contracts are up this year anyway. Enjoy the Saudi money as long as possible and then rejoin the PGA tour. Life is good for DeC and Rahm.

Bryson's contract does indeed end this year but Rahm's ends in 2028.

I wonder what others like former Illini golfer Thoma Detry would do. Being from Belgium perhaps apply to play on the DP Tour I imagine.

Yeah, I think the other LIV players will be much more impacted than the remaining big names (who can go right back to the PGA tour). Some of the older guys might just retire or semi-retire, being happy with that last big payday. The younger players will need to fight their way back onto other tours.

LIV has its moment when the merger talks began. LIV needed to pivot and become the team league for professional golf and compliment the PGA. This didn't happen and it started to fade away.

But but but some posters said Saudis don’t care if they set money on fire indefinitely. No reason to bail now.

When you're losing hundreds of millions a year with no indication it'll get better I imagine you do care.

LIV is hugely popular in Australia and South Africa. Tourneys there drew huge crowds but that's not enough. No one is watching on TV and those huge contracts haven't made a difference in the US.

LIV folds before 2028 Ramm will be released from contract and trhe PGA will allow him back ASAP but with a penalty .
I believe the DP tour will benefit from letting LIV golfers that the PGA doesn't want now and will let them earn their spurs in the DP or Asian Tour.

Quick Chris Gotterup update from the Heritage.....

On the 325yd Par 4 9th hole, he drove it OVER the green (340yds) lol. Did chip up and Birdie. He's 2 under playing the 10th with Viktor Hovland (-4)

I hate when I do that
He's messed up the Back 9. He was 4 Under when he reached the Par 5 15th. Wild drive, advanced the ball 4 feet, tried to hit out to the fairway but knocked it across into more trouble, and ended with a Double Bogey 7.

Then 3 Putted 18 to finish -1. His playing partner Hovland was making putts from all over finishing 7 Under.

Not a good day for Chris. He missed 2 Birdie putts, one of 4' and one 2'10''. I beleive he missed almost as many greens as he hit on approaches. The only thing that kept him from a bigger score was his chipping and pitching. When he bogeyed 18 for the 2nd day in a row he ended +1 and Even for the Tourney, putting him T61.

His playing partner, Viktor Hovland short 65 and stands 1 stroke behind the leader, Matt Fitzpartick (-14) who shot 63. Harris English is 3rd at -10.

Getting $142K for finishing tied for 25th isn't a bad consolation prize, lol. Was a fun watch of the final 9 with Scheffler catching Fitzpatrick, but Fitzpatrick hitting an amazing 4-iron draw against the crosswind to 13' on the first playoff hole and making the putt to win, after Scheffler made a great chip to about 7'.

Chris had 8 Birdies yesterday. Probably made 75-80% of Putts under 15'. He made 125' feet in Putts overall after averaging around 65' the first 3 Rounds. He was #1 in Shots Gained Putting and #4 Putts Per GIR.

Congrats to Fitzpatrick. Also congrats to him and his Jersey Shore (Bay Head) wife.

And his wife's family are members of Manasquan River CC. A neighbor is a member. Told me he'd be playing there once in a while.

Does he hold the course record or did you take it when you played it? :)

Saw Fitzpatrick at Metedeconk range. Ball striking at the pga level just sounds so much different. Hahahah.
Manasquan Golf Club river holes are some of the nicest around.

Like I said, only a matter of time. Even the wealthiest of wealthy don't like looking at a balance sheet and seeing a losing asset every month. LIV is stupid anyway.
