Men’s basketball portal recruiting is going very poorly. Struck out on Karter Knox and Samet Yogigkbvdkhgsbj who were both considered players we had the inside track for. Good thing we kept Paris!!!!
I love that you copy and pasted his name since I couldn’t spell it correctly from memory!I really wanted to land Samet Yogigkbvdkhgsbj just to see that name on the jersey.
Oh, we’ll have enough to play, but it’ll be D2 castoffs and other clowns. Are we going to have enough players to even play?
Yes, but it will be the leftovers the good basketball programs leave availableAre we going to have enough players to even play?

As we all know, or should know, increasing the NIL pool was not the answer. This after we doubled our NIL pool, or however much we increased it.
Paris will be a mid season firing if it all goes as expected. It might be a record bad season
It's almost as if NIL $ isn't enough to convince good players to come play for a horrible coach.Im literally stunned that Paris was allowed to remain HC. It ******* boggles the mind.
No matter how much NILIt's almost as if NIL$ isn't enough to convince good players to come play for a horrible coach.
According to the TOS insiders this is not true. We are still in with both players and several other high profile players.Men’s basketball portal recruiting is going very poorly. What’s not true? Those guys absolutely committed to Indiana and Louisville along with the transfer forward we were after from IowaAccording to the TOS insiders this is not true. We are still in with both players and several other high profile players.
The big guy is going to IU.According to the TOS insiders this is not true. We are still in with both players and several other high profile players.
Yep and Knox and the Iowa kid committed to LouisvilleThe big guy is going to IU.
I mean I guess things could always change.
There seems to be no indication of that from other insiders elsewhere. Louisville seems to be in Kentucky mode ready and willing to spend it all on a roster!Maybe thats the disconnect. The guys "committed" elsewhere, but are still taking competing offers.
I wish people would get comfortable with the idea that we are wasting next season in order to reduce Paris' buyout.Men’s basketball portal recruiting is going very poorly. Bleak. True. But bleak.I wish people would get comfortable with the idea that we are wasting next season in order to reduce Paris' buyout.
I’m not comfortable with the idea that we are spending 10-12 million on a roster to waste a season and I will never get comfortable with that.I wish people would get comfortable with the idea that we are wasting next season in order to reduce Paris' buyout.

Here's a hypothetical twist: football turns in another dismal season. I don't think he survives another sub-6-win season. If Donati is forced to part ways with Beamer, that likely buys Lamont another season, no matter how basketball does.
I guess a question is, how bad can football be WITHOUT Donati being forced to let Beamer go b/c he knows he wants to keep financial flexibility to fire Paris?
If money is the only reason to come to Carolina, and it is, why would any decent player come?
A payday on a lousy basketball team can't be fun for a college kid with potential.
Might be unpopular opinion around here, but I think 6-6 and a bowl appearance buys Beamer another year. I'm not saying that should be the case (I think anything less than 8-4, he should be shown the door), but I believe that's the reality we're facing.
And yes, MBB for us is just a sunk cost at this moment, and will remain so until it becomes economically feasible to part ways with Paris. I hate it, as I'd really like us to be a factor in March Madness more than once a decade. But the AD put us behind the 8-ball (see what I did there?), and we're going to have to wander a while longer before things can improve.
I don't see any way to not win 6 games next season in football. Quite a few here feel like a new OL coach and a new OC are going to be worth at least 3 additional wins over last season.Bleak. True. But bleak.

I think a more troubling thought is; what if football goes 6-6, goes to a crap bowl and wins? Is 7-6 and a win over a mid major in a cold weather bowl game enough to keep Beamer? I'm afraid it is. Such a record would not be enough to excite any recruits or the fans but Beamer would be back in 2027.
I think it would be worse to face a future of perpetual 5 to 8 win seasons than the unknown with a new coach.
