thought Slick Rick LOVED Darling guess not haha
Pitino LOVES winning more and the stud point guard he got today and possibly Blyden jr. in next few days will get all the minutes at the point.

Darling rumored to be getting 2 million to go closer to home in Washington

That number would surprise me. By a lot.
No clue on this guy. But I tend to think rick has as much money to spend as he wants. Think Repole loves this and a few mill more not a big deal. Assume he knows RP only has a few more years and he is all in. All based on intuition, not on facts...

No doubt he has plenty of $$$, but they missed last year on a number of guys they were rumored with and I'm sure will miss this year too on guys they want, if they have not already. And I don't trust so much of the stuff out there publicly on NIL because it's agenda driven. Especially with "sources" from other programs. The easiest thing ever when a team/program misses out on a guy or guys is to say that player got "x" figure higher from someone else.

So I guess any Euro league player no matter age has full eligibility so long as they have never been to an American university
No clue on the rules there. But when you looked throughout college basketball last year, including the final 4, they were everywhere.

If this kid turns out to be any good, I'm sure it will be turned into them doing something wrong. Then again, this has been going on forever with the Euros. Lest we forget a core member of our most famous team ever being a 24 year old Australian professional basketball player, or the various Israeli pros that Calhoun brought into Uconn in the 90s who were not college kids.

Andrew Gaze was a 23 years old junior when he joined and played for Seton Hall University for the 1988-1989 season. The Australian basketball standout, having already played in the 1988 Olympics, committed to the team to gain experience before returning to Australia, helping the Pirates reach the NCAA Final Four.

The thing is, his per 40 stats put him the same echelon as the best upperclass big men in the country. The risk with Hines isn’t so much whether he’ll reach the ability level of a $3 million player. He’s basically there already. As a freshman. The risk is whether he can withstand the workload you’d want from a guy with that kind of salary.

Tarris Reed had those same concerns coming into UConn btw and it worked out great. Hines is also wired like the type of kid Danny prefers. Tough, all about winning. To me, this seems like a no brainer for Hurley. I’ll bet he lands there.
1 for 1. My next Hines predictions are that he’s 1st team all BE next season and an All-American before he’s done college.

Yup. I said during the season he is a perfect fit for Uconn if you look at the type of bigs Hurley has accumulated over the last few years. But there is also a view Hurley will never take a Seton Hall player of significance, so there’s still that I suppose.

Najai, what about you?
Hines, easy.

I actually think Prey is pretty good though. Thought he was a valuable reserve for them the last 2 years especially with the defensive and switching ability. Will see if he can be a legit stretch 4/5 with more PT, assuming he sticks around.

When i remind myself we only have to replace 5 ppg and 5rpg it makes me feel a little better anyway..
I think you’re missing his value. Hines had “gravity.” When he was on the floor, it changed other teams’ defense. They had to double him creating space for other guys to get open looks or dive to the weak side. Nobody ever doubled Payne. Plus what he could do defensively. High end shot blocker and opposing big men couldn’t move him. Going into his second year he could be a double double machine. Time will tell.
