Props, Tgar. These are EXACTLY the three nominees that I thought are deserving as well. A number of the other listed nominees are also decent musicians, but tell me how Sade, Luther Vandross, New Edition, Shakira, and Wu-Tang Clan are "Rock and Roll" artists. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is trying to be too all-embracing, IMHO. Why can't they have a separate Soul/R&B/Rap Hall of Fame? Put it in Detroit and give Detroit a new tourist attraction.thanks for posting. Deserving entry:
Billy Idol
iron Maiden
Phil Collins
A "tortuous friend zoner?" Ouch. Methinks there is a pretty good story there.Saw Billy idol on city island summer 83 with my most tortuous friend zoner

I didn’t claim it, they said it, better laugh at them.Sorry - I’m too busy laughing after seeing your post where you claim Bon Jovi as a musical influence of George Lynch / Dokken![]()
Agree, but since they are including R&B artists, Luther Vandross should be there.Props, Tgar. These are EXACTLY the three nominees that I thought are deserving as well. Yes because lousy bands that no one listens to are actually quite talented. And if five people in the world like them, that must mean they’re awesome and belong in the HOF.Not wrong. Stupid.
Other than your opinion, why shouldn’t he be there? Too many hits? Too many top selling albums? Too much success?Phil Collins. Good god.

Jon Bon Jovi was still John Bongiovi and barely had pubes when George Lynch and Don Dokken were working the Sunset Strip in the late seventies…. Lynch’s influences = Jeff Beck, Blackmore, EVH, Randy Rhoads and Sunset Strip contemporaries like Warren DeMartini/Jake E. Lee/Dave Miniketti etc … phocking Ritchie Sambora was dilly dallying in New Jersey and influenced nobody, no less any player on the StripI didn’t claim it, they said it, better laugh at them.
HS friend zone torment a story ad old *** dirtA "tortuous friend zoner?" Ouch. Methinks there is a pretty good story there.
Better let them know then, so they stop saying it. Not to mention, bands change and evolve and as they evolve they often incorporate other bands style and sounds. Not sure why you’re so down on Bon Jovi…if you don’t think they belong in the RRHOF, then I’m not sure you know what a hall of fame is.Jon Bon Jovi was still John Bongiovi and barely had pubes when George Lynch and Don Dokken were working the Sunset Strip in the late seventies…. Don Dokken is 10yrs older than JBJ, hardly influenced by him - and the only thing they had in common was tight pants and a propensity for writing really bad lyrics
The man with the worst musical taste in history speaks.Shouting from the top of the pop music mountain is funny to the rick
I’d argue I have the most versatile music taste on this board. I’d love to know the last 5 live acts you’ve attended. The man with the worst musical taste in history speaks.
I guess you could call it versatile.I’d argue I have the most versatile music taste on this board. I’d love to know the last 5 live acts you’ve attended.
And JBJ was in four other bands prior to Bon Jovi starting in 1975…just throwing that out there.Jon Bon Jovi was still John Bongiovi and barely had pubes when George Lynch and Don Dokken were working the Sunset Strip in the late seventies…. Yes - and as a 14yr old in 1975 , pimply-faced John Bongiovi’s band was highly influential, as well as his three other bands as a teen …And JBJ was in four other bands prior to Bon Jovi starting in 1975
