I honestly feel a little bad for Colorado, because they're a once-proud program that filled a huge need in that part of the U.S. (I also have an appreciation for them essentially ending Nebraska's dynasty going into the 2000s

Utah and BYU have sort of taken over as the premiere programs in the mountain west, but when people say CFB is better when X teams are good, I think of programs like Colorado or a Pittsburgh/West Virginia, or some of the schools that would be considered mid tier to above average that have had some success in the past several decades.
That speaks to a healthier competitive sport overall, rather than the regurgitate bullsh** that we need the same f***ing teams at the top because "ratings". F*** your ratings and what the casual f***s want to see, ESPN.
With that said, you knew this would be the ultimate outcome with the Deion experiment. CU fans were sold a flashy bill of goods at a time when they were struggling and vulnerable, and they jumped at the chance for instant relevancy.
But that unfortunately was always gonna come at a cost.
