Gotta keep'em coming until someone commits. It'd be negotiator malpractice to let any player believe they were our only hope.
Cox is more than likely viewed as the backup PG. From the sounds of it, interest for Zoom (both by him and the coaching staff) shifted when the 2-guard system with him and Dedan Thomas fell through. Zoom was more than likely viewed as a CG rather than PG1, hence why they wanted to bring in Dedan with him to truly run the point.
What moment have you been living in the past several years, specifically popes 2 year tenure. That’s a basketball life question only, our results do not define my happiness but it is more fun having a team that can compete for a title.
That's the biggest worry I have. He gets a good to great roster and then loses 8-12 games, no SEC regular season, no SECT champ, and no NCAA FF...just stuck in this cycle of just good enough to keep your job but not good enough to be great.
Bruh...living in the moment of UK basketball the last five years or so hasn't been terribly fun. It has just gotten bad enough that dudes VISITING CAMPUS gets some of us excited.

I would doubt we see commitments today. Small chance Wright commits if his father is 100% on board but I expect them to evaluate all choices.

I understand winning sec gives you opportunity to make some noise in ncaa tournament, but i also believe the sec beating each other up each week is overrated. We saw numerous sec teams drop like flies during the first weekend. Sec struggles against teams that are little more creative on offense, and more fundamentally sound.
I put more emphasis on how well we do in non conference games than sec regular season. It let's me know if we got competitive team or not. We got our tails whoop this past season in non conference schedule.
Well, everybody was bitching about recruiting so let's deal with the recruiting first and a roster. Then you guys can continue to be Debbie downers
Meh...win the SEC and most years you're competitive in the tourney. But I get what you're saying about non-con. Last year we kinda got our butts kicked everywhere, non-con and SEC.

All this talk is prep work to get people to expect a commitment during the visit so when it doesn’t happen immediately while on campus, there’s “cause” for them to kick and scream..
Democrats try to use this same tactic/logic on Trump, must be a low IQ thing.
That campus word sure travels fast on Sundays and Monday mornings. I can see you now, driving through campus Saturday night with your window down, yelling "How's Zoom feel?". Those poor girls were probably scared, that's why they replied "No, No, No!".

Zoom isn’t Kentucky basketball good. I know some here like him but he isn’t close to being good enough to lead us and there’s better guys to play backup who’s half the price.
The problem I have with this is all the pipe pumpers are acting like these visits will turn into 100% commitments. That is what it seems like. They have all come out of the woodwork. We will be lucky to get one of these guys. Would love to have them all and hope I’m wrong, but let’s not act like a visit means Pope is back.

Well that's an exciting update. Don't want to get too excited until it's official, but... yay.
I still haven't seen the source of the reports about Zoom not being interested in playing more of a combo guard role next to a true PG like Thomas or Wright, only ever discussion of it on this board. And I have seen less of Thomas's game than Wright. But Wright is a pretty ball-dominant player. I love having two ball-handling guards on the court at the same time, especially if one of them has good size. However I can see why a guy who considers himself a tier-1 PG may not want to play second fiddle to a primary ball handler. With that in mind it makes sense to try and get a skilled guy from a mid major for that role.

I literally work at UK medical but thanks. I’ll put my sources up against most on here.
Funny thing is the "sources" they trust are just journalist/internet persona who get info 3rd and 4th hand and don't know anything definitive either.
Trilly said St John's has the highest offer for Rob Wright with BYU and UK around the same number below them. Decision expected this week.
