If he is, but Nike is rumored to put up 2 million of that. Maybe they eat some more of that cost for us.
Tubby would coach circles around him though. If Tubby could have bought players I have no doubt he would have recruited better than Pope overall. Tubby had the same issue that he was too loyal to crappy assistants and wouldn’t change them to real recruiters either. At least Pope cut bait, but we will see if he kept the wrong one or not.

Arizona is pursuing Diallo and was recruiting him hard when he was in high school before he chose Washington. Looks like it's Wright and Stokes.
That kind of lineup is not uncommon in today's NBA.
IF Pope can reel in this haul and fashion a creative, pro style offense, then he has something seriously tangible to sell to future recruits

Pope has a new plan based on whoever is on campus because he feels the pressure of landing guys because all the idiots here are on watch. In other words, he's plan-less. He's simply trying to land whoever he can and reacts to it. Meanwhile, those guys are here because of the $$ and they'll either take it or bring it to the next suitor asking them to match it.

If Diallo is all for playing with those guys then he could be a great addition for us. I guess it’s hard to judge going off his games last season. He had some talent guys around him, maybe they just didn’t fit together well enough to win games like they should’ve. No doubt I’d be happy if he’s the guy Mark wants though. About the money, I hadn’t heard that, appreciate the info.

It should be impossible, we should have signed Collins when he was on board. The JMI deal has hindered our ability to sign top guys No doubts. We need to set up a separate booster fund to offset that for top guys. Give them the revenue share pie, and the rest of the bench guys get JMI money. Something.
Stokes, Wright, Freeman should be our top three priorities. In that order. Zoom would be the sweetest icing on the cake if we could land him, too. Him and Rob would be top 5 backcourt in the country
I’m right there with you. But since it’s my birthday today, I’m holding out hope the Popester and Mo are cookin today.
I did read that Wright’s Dad is excited about the idea of Rob being developed by Mo, him being a former All Star and World Champ. Hmmmm, seems like some of us said just that, Mo having those credentials in correlation to helping us land recruits. Hopefully it comes to fruition.
I’d rather get 5 studs to go with Kam, Moreno and Hawthorne/Noah and just run with them. The 2012 team basically played 7 guys with an 8th getting spot minutes. Arizona this year was similar. Pope can’t recruit good enough to get 9/10 good players so I’d rather go all in on 6 or 7 higher end talents and play them 30+ minutes a night.

Exactly. If he’s limited to 7-8 guys then that takes that equation out of his hands.
