A LOT of guys go on visits to schools and don't sign. And it's not just a UK thing. Recruits often visit multiple schools.
Obviously if they don't get commitments out of this, things are going to feel bad.
Okay I'll grant you that but at some point we really do have to SERIOUSLY ask ourselves WHATS WRONG HERE. Why can't we get people to sign. I've been a UK follower since around 1965. In 61 years I have never seen UK not have a single recruit signed in mid April, and don't tell me about the kid we signed whose dad we hired as a coach. Nobody was signed. AT UK. HOW DOES THAT HAPPEN.
Maybe Pope's got something cooking. Perhaps holding off players from making it official until after these visits. Imagine how how fun it would be dunking on UL's recent commits by announcing a player every hour starting in the afternoon for Diallo, Wright, Freeman and then Stokes. Would also signal to other programs that we're back.
Honestly do you really think that's going to happen. I have tried my best to remain positive and optimistic but the glaring problems are becoming difficult to ignore.
I'll say that this is the most optimistic I've been in some time. I have been a harsh critic of Pope for awhile now. It just feels like the planets are aligning for us finally.
All we can do is hope. Hope everything works out. It’d be nice not have to think we’ll be inevitably looking for a new coach next year. It’d be nice if CMP turned things around and finally got it.

The factors you site are real but they don't seem to be stopping Duke, Uconn, KU , Houston or others from getting top players. How do you explain that? Why isn't Kentucky?
We're currently recruiting top players. Again, if we don't get them--then it's a valid point.
That’s just what the university can give. They get money from everywhere else too.
We must get an outside threat to win though so Stokes and Freeman can do their work. Wright is a good shooter but also needs an outside threat so he can penetrate to the hole. It opens it all up.
I'm still skeptical, but I would LOVE nothing more than to see Pope land this haul.

It's fluid but I think they're honed in on Wilkins from Furman right now for SG.
Because we probably found out he wasn’t what we needed and could do a lot better. Or we got the feeling he was trying to bankrupt us by believing he was better than he is. Way down my list of players I would want to be honest. I would’ve rather had the kid from LSU 100% before him. I still get what you’re saying bud. It’s definitely been frustrating.
The thing that’s exciting about these four guys is, along with Moreno, that’s actually a pretty coherent starting 5 with skill and size. Would be nice if Diallo (or Freeman) were a better shooter but if Pope knows how to coach a team more akin to Zona last year than his BYU teams, you could do a version of that with this roster.
Rumor is that Diallo is sold on playing alongside Wright. Also, boosters have “ponied up” the cash for Stokes. There’s a separate fund just for Stokes. That’s the scuttlebutt. Idk how true it is.
I’d rather keep it around 13M for those 4 and then have 9 to fill the bench. With MM we are at like 15 or so for the starting lineup.
If Stokes is 7M, Thats hard to imagine IMO
