Agreed- the right has completely BLOWN the left out of the water with their grassroots social media and messaging. Their messaging is tight, cohesive, and effective. The left is terrible at this. I'll go out on a limb here and say that everyone is innocent until proven guilty. It might seem as if this might be a Democrat setup to limit the number of Dems on the governor ballot, but why would you try to eliminate the Democrat with the highest poll numbers. I don't know Swawell, and it seems clear from his statement to his wife that he has not been faithful. But, that's not sufficient reason to expell him...remember there's a lot of money paid out by congress to settle members sexual abuse claims.
I'm all for the "believe the victim" theory, but we also have a system where the accused is allowed to be heard.
I think him dropping out of the CA governors race is totally fine. This is basically a job interview of sorts and almost anyone accused of this type of behavior wouldn't get hired. At best he is a serial philanderer and that is an open secret in DC apparently. There are also accounts of him having/trying to have affairs with interns, which is to me completely disqualifying as it abuses the power dynamic. It is the type of thing you get told not to do at any company HR's harassment 101 training. With that in mind he should be kicked out of congress
