The thing about all these Eric Swalwell revelations is that ALL of them were known for years. But the media worked with the Democrat establishment to keep them quiet as long as Swalwell was useful.

Now, because the California governor race has become a fiasco that might actually lead to a Republican winning unless a couple of Dems drop out to consolidate the vote, he needs to go. And like clockwork, here comes the orchestrated campaign of sexual harassment claims to end his career.

To be sure, Swalwell is garbage and deserves everything bad that's coming to him. But it's just amazing how the Democrats can just push a button and the machinery of the media and legal system just springs into action to eject someone from the party.

This is a guy who was caught sleeping with a Chinese spy for years, with actual evidence that he compromised national security in the process, and he remained completely protected and elevated as a major national figure. But as soon as the math stops working on the CA governor race, it all collapses underneath him.

Wild stuff.

Couldn't happen to a better scumbag.

How ruthlessly effective is the Democrat machine?

Eric Swalwell is asked to drop out of the race because a Republicans may actually win.

He refuses.

Party operatives tap into their pool of white liberal feminists and just like that, he's hit with not one...not two, but FOUR sexual assault accusations.

Of course, none of the victims can remember any details, just that it happened. The exact Blasey-Ford and E. Jean Carrol playbook.

Within an hour, the victim is being interviewed on @CNN.

The email goes out.

Almost immediately, the teacher's union is condemning him and Schumer, Pelosi, Jeffries and every other Democrat on Twitter is calling for him to drop out of the race.

Keep in mind, when Tara Reade accused Biden of forcibly sexually abusing her, they called her a liar and nobody called for him to drop out.

This is all a coordinated attack because they've seen the internal polling that Steve Hilton may actually win this thing and they are sacrificing Swalwell because liberal idiots like him are a dime a dozen.

You're not intelligent, and you're a joke of an attorney. You've never argued a single case. Lmao. What you posted is nonsense and lies. When's Trump going to jail Tubby? You've been saying it for 10 years.
You are obviously unaware that a significant portion of the attorney population never "argues a case." That is a something in which litigation attorneys specialize. I handle transactional work (real estate transactions and estate planning, as well as probate), with probate work occasionally requiring that I make an appearance in probate court. Most of the time, those matters are uncontested, ex-parte matters, so there is no arguing taking place. There is, however, a judge presiding over it all, and he or she occasionally asks pointed questions.

I fully understand your ignorance of the foregoing facts. How could you be expected to understand them? You attended ASU, and eke out a living putting shoes on horse hooves. Your capacity to understand much of anything is limited. As I mentioned, my dad would have considered you a lemonhead.

@LafayetteBear My daughter is an attorney and she is now a VP in a major university

She said years ago clients and angry opposition might meet you in the parking lot to threaten you

Had any experiences like that

Just asking as curious
Not really. Litigation attorneys, bankruptcy attorneys, prosecutors, criminal defense attorneys, and family law (aka divorce) attorneys are the types of attorneys who most often encounter hostility from opposing parties or other participants in a legal matter. Family law courts were the first California courts to install metal detectors outside courtrooms. There's just a lot of conflict and misery in many divorce proceedings. Ask anyone here who has been through a divorce.

As a transactional attorney, I am preparing contracts and agreements that will hopefully keep people out of litigation. There is typically far less angst and conflict during the process of negotiating and documenting a contract.

Well, THAT is not a take I expected to see. My own personal view is that I do not know what happened (exceedingly few people do), and that while it is heinous to accuse him if he did not do this, it is also heinous for him to have done it if he did. He may never be found guilty by a court, but he is likely to be regarded as guilty in the court of public opinion. I don't see him remaining in the race for Governor. My preferred candidate has long been Katie Porter, so it would not have affected my vote in the primary, anyway.

I think it is likely that Swalwell is toast. If it was just the person who claimed he assaulted her, that would be one thing. It would most likely be a she said, he said thing he could perhaps get past. But the four other women piling on with accounts of him having harassed them tips the scales, at least in the court of public opinion, IMHO. I don't see how he gets past this. Donald Trump somehow manages it, but Trump supporters will forgive Trump for anything. Not even Clinton got that level of forgiveness.

Hopefully, the truth of these accusations will come out at some point, whatever that truth may be.

Frankly, I am not inclined to support Swalwell. I don't know if he assaulted this former staffer or not but, even if he did not, this is gonna dog him with Democratic voters. I don't see him winning with this hanging over his head.

But I have to laugh at James Wood's post. He's fulminating over Swalwell as a result of these accusations, when I have yet to see him utter a peep about Trump and the many accusations of sexual assault, statutory rape, and sexual harassment lodged against him.

Finally, who the hell is this idiot Chad Caton? "Your [sic] toast." Holy shiat ...

As a liberal, Salwell clearly is in the wrong, is a pos, and should resign IMMEDIATELY. What an absolute corrupt creep
I disagree. He should be allowed to defend himself, and be afforded the time to do so. You simply cannot allow accusations, true or not, to destroy lives solely based on accusations. It's precisely what makes America different. I do not like Swalwell, but he has a right to face his accusers head on.

Of course he should be allowed to defend himself, and he is. Nobody is disallowing that. He should drop out of the race immediately and resign from his current office in disgrace.

It's entirely unsurprising, though, that you've come to the defense of a rapist. Swalwell's best move at this point is probably a party switch. The Republicans will make him president.

You're right, if he was your President, it would not matter at all, in fact, you would completely ignore it while you raged about blue haired trannies.

Folks like you are just God awful. You've already accused him of being a rapist with absolutely no evidence, only accusations. You're the same type of idiot who hung women based on witch trials. Well done.

You and your buddy don't believe in our justice system whatsoever. Then, the only thing you have is politics. You are the lowest IQ person I've ever seen online. Try making your argument at a law school debate or an historical society. You'd be laughed off the stage.

I haven't accused him of being a rapist. I've read the articles and the allegations, and I believe the women who are accusing him, though.

You haven't read the allegations and you're blindly supporting the alleged rapist. That's a real moral high ground upon which you're standing, raghead.

You're right, I don't believe in the justice system under THIS president, the one YOU gave a get out of jail free card so that he could ESCAPE JUSTICE in order to allow him to weaponize the DOJ against innocent people you don't like. You have enabled the thing you cry about - YOU are the problem and I will debate you at the barn of your choosing!

What the hell is wrong with you. You absolutely called him a rapist, then absolutely denied it. You know nothing of the situation whether it be true or not. Meanwhile, with no evidence, simply accusations, you double down and call him a racist.

You know what our justice system is about? Have you a clue? John Adams defending British troops in 1770 after the Boston Massacre. That is what makes America different. Meanwhile, you exhibit traits of the clueless moron you are, with no knowledge, and no facts. Get lost. I'm done with your bullsh-t.
