If true then it might be the boosters trying to squeeze him out. They have more personal exposure to Pope than certainly anyone here, and may have come to the conclusion he isn’t the guy.

Exactly that's how it usually starts when the boosters start to dry up on giving money and lose confidence in you your time as UK coach comes to a close pretty quick. Other than Cal talking to Arkansas when he wasn't supposed to that was the problem he was also running into toward the end of his time as coach here.

Explain to me how CMP matches UK? What makes him so compatible with this school and with fans? I’m legitimately surprised and curious how anyone could think otherwise. Even if he were winning, I never felt the passion that guys like Pitino and Cal (his first 10 years) had.

Before he even came here plenty of fans were concerned that he simply didn’t match the passion of the UK fanbase and that he was going to have a difficult time selling recruits the brand because of the level of enthusiasm he has or doesn’t show.

This isn’t really an insult for CMP. He just seems like he would be better off at a school with lower expectations and fewer fans. At Uk he’s in a fishbowl. Everything he does and says will have UK fans latched onto every word and action. And you can’t expect fans to change decades of passion simply because the guy isn’t able to match.

I can’t help but feel like some of you are thinking I’m insulting him for saying he simply lacks the compatibility to match the high expectations of fans and the program, but I’m not. It’s a legitimate concern.

Pope is dealing with coming into a program with Zero players or recruits. ZERO. That was a tough start. Both years he has matched what Calipari was doing here when he left.
The Fanbase wanted immediate results. We have the worst AD in college sports. Demands the coach follow rules that no one else is. He put a company in place with the exact same restrictions. JMI must follow all NCAA rules or they are in breach of contract.
There are plenty of reasons to give CMP some slack. He’s not getting any. Not one inch from this fanbase. I’ve said it in 20 threads. No coach can succeed here under Mitch. Our only hope is the new AD.

Your 'feels' are telling you he isn't passionate enough!? He doesn't jump around like a cheerleader, but takes losing so hard that he's actually mentioned suicide. . But you don't feel any passion!?

Yeah but look at the money that was utilized on guys that didn't play. Even if it's less, if Pope is smart it should almost be a wash.
