Illini offering over 4million for him.
Duke is trying to counter.
Between who, Peru and Bellevue?
38-0.Huskers could be fielding their deepest roster in history. Playing more than 7 kids would be huge. Quite possible will have 10 kids who can play.
Grading in percentile quality by position- looks encouraging
Pryce 90
Frager 80
Orme 70
Uggi- if healthy 60
Conner 50
Jacobsen 30
Curtis?
Rice and Lanier are legit, but hard to say how they do in physical Big as freshmen. Either could end up contributing . Lots of potential
Leonhardt 60
Fielder 65
Anderson 50
Houston ?

Curious why he went to Boise when he was starting at Georgetown.
Thanks for that update. You been in a coma or something? Last posted in 2018 and all of a sudden you’re here to tell us we could make the tourney next year? Breaking news.Won’t be 38-0
But top 1/3 in the BIG is well within reach
That would Mean NCAA tournament and most likely top 25 ranking. That’s fine with me. Also we have a very grounded and well respected coach and staff and few off court issues. A system - identity. Great facilities and fan support. Lots to like in that picture
It depends on who you are talking about as high profile. We're coming off the greatest season in history and hope to be bringing back our best players. There are specific types of players that Fred wants to fit into his system. And just watching this team play has got to appeal to a lot of college players. This isn't one on one, stand around AAU ball. Case in point, Orme talking about seeing how well the team plays together. That's attractive to kids who also want to play that style. Orme, 6' 9", Indiana kid. Great shooter. Good fit for the offense, but he won't match what Berke did on defense (few will). With the money we’re told was routed to the basketball team after this season, why are we not targeting higher profile kids. I’m the first to admit I don’t follow basketball very closely, but it seems we could be going after players that have already been successful at the higher levels instead of the ones we’re looking at that have been successful in the lower tier levels
NU Football is more about how good it will sound when we sign somebody. Nebraska basketball, over the last few years, has been more about the fit and how well the team will perform. The difference between Fred and Rhule is I actually trust his decision making in this situation. We also have 2 really high-caliber players to build around, so we don't have to take risks.
Saw Mara warm up and play a little last year when UCLA came to town. Barely played, looked like a guy who shouldn't even be on the team. Fast forward one year of development later at a new school and he's a 1st round NBA draft prospect.Assuming money is the issue that has been resolved. IF there was in influx of funds they would likely go to existing players who get a raise first. Then, Fred seems to be the kind who looks for pieces that fit what he wants to do. Look at Michigan, May wants size and lots of it. They can dominate you physically and wear you down and you have to get around them or shoot over them. He looks for a certain kind of athlete and it isn't a 3 point 6 foot bomber from way downtown. JMHO
That's what going from 7 ppg to scoring 33 against San Diego State can do.He's from Boise. Wanted to play for his hometown team.
But now realized he has one year left to make serious money.
Figured you’d be a big UCF fan again at this pointWon’t be 38-0

He was one of the lead Frosturbators. Disappeared after the frost and moos **** show started. Don’t think he cares about the University, just his acceptable coachesThanks for that update. I can only speak for myself here, but wanting players to stick around boils down to more than just earning playing time. There’s a lot to be said for consistency and continuity. Players will ( or in Nebraskas case should) develop better by staying in the same system, more so for football than basketball on that statement. It is shocking how many players were ******* miserable at their current schools...yet they were pretty much stuck there and if they wanted to leave they had to sit out a year, for no reason.
It is even more shocking how many people think that they should still not be allowed to transfer all because of some lame "Stick it out and earn your playing time" mantra when most of these guys DID earn playing time and DID earn scholarships and now just want to compete at an even higher level.
But they are riding out a contract...that contract is for one season.I can only speak for myself here, but wanting players to stick around boils down to more than just earning playing time. I think for me though the biggest reason why I’d like to see transfers get under control is because it has now turned into one year contracts and then a free for all, there’s little to no continuity with teams from year to year, and each school is just a stepping stone. These kids are not always chasing playing time at a higher level, it’s just chasing a paycheck (I don’t blame them, get paid while you can). Teams are tampering with players and honestly yes they’re offering better paydays but the grass isn’t always greener.
College athletics has lost a lot of appeal because now it’s just a bigger professional league. No one plays for the name on the front of the jersey, there’s no pride in the product, as long as these kids are making this kind of money in college…
I’m all for kids getting paid, and I’m all for them chasing a better situation for themselves. I’d just like to see regulations put in place, I’d like to see these kids have to ride out a contract, and not renegotiate every year. There just needs to be a system in place.
Agreed with a lot of what you’re saying here. You’re correct they are playing out a contract, but there have been instances where players committed, then got a different offer and when to the other team before even playing for the other. Now that’s a rare example but it’s happened, and I’m pretty sure players have been offered multi million dollar contracts for a four year period, and then after a year or two they’re gone… universities are losing money because of these things… I’m pretty sure a college in the SEC is going after a former player for something like that. But they are riding out a contract...that contract is for one season.
As far as "tampering" goes, I get it but is it really "tampering" if you have a friend on another team and that friend goes "Bro...you should come play here next year".
As far as "learning a system" I get that but couldn't you argue that as a player, learning MORE systems and different plays and being introduced to different coaching styles and drills is actually the bigger benefit?
The mop up time vs game tape time is always an interesting debate.Agreed with a lot of what you’re saying here. I think you can make a solid argument that learning a new system can help further your development, but there is a difference between learning and mastering a system, and not every kid is meant to play in multiple different systems.
Then you have to factor in what kind of playing time you’re going to get as well. We can use Nebraska as an example, we can have a kid here starting but get offered more money by let’s say Texas, or Georgia or some other team that’s constantly competing, they may not be guaranteed a starting position, and it’s only a guarantee that we’ll let you compete for a starting spot. Now I’m using football as more of an example on this one here but we all know Nebraska maybe has a small number of players that could even compete for a starting spot at any of the schools that are constantly competing. Yea they can make more at any of those schools, but wouldn’t it be smarter to stick it out and get game tape instead of playing mop up time?
I think you’re right, most kids should know around that time. For me it’s less about the kids making their money, which I can agree with, they should make it while they can for as long as they can. It has more to do with roster continuity, and bringing back the feel of college athletics. The mop up time vs game tape time is always an interesting debate.
This is just my guess but I am assuming by about that second year, those kids kind of know if they are an NFL guy or not...Not all of them but a good amount. At that point, it should be all about making as much loot as you can in your 5 year window. Because once that time is up, you are just another account exec at Noobies.

Some are just trying to get on the court and will have to drop a level to do so ..but some are convinced they are getting the short straw by their current coach. But yes it doesn’t and can’t work out for everyone.I like how some of profiles of potential athletes show their PPG, ROG and APG while others show - played in 10 of 30 games averaging 2.8 MPG. Lots of players seemingly couldn’t crack their current teams at all but are hopeful they will make with a second team with no evidence of success. This all can’t work long term for everyone but I could see rosters ending up with players who have proven stats of some kind.
I would argue that MORE teams can complete for titles now...Look at Indiana in football, look at the Big Ten dominance in FB now.The problem is we're getting to a point where only a handful of college basketball teams can complete for a National Championship, because they have the $ to sign any transfer they want, while everyone else competes for the scraps. Gone are the days where a cinderella like Butler, VCU, George Mason, FAU can make a Final Four run. This is what made March Madness special and unique. Now there are very few big upsets anymore.
Also, guys playing for 4 different schools in 4 years is ridiculous. Why even make them go to class anymore? How can you possibly finish a college degree after going to a different school every year?
Ya he is going backwards in the portal . I agree the agent is trying to build him up . I seriously doubt Fred even knows who this kid is .This one is a hard pass. Couldn't get playing time at Memphis or Wyoming.
Must have an agent slipping "interest from Nebraska" into the conversation.
Cruz Davis from Hofstra might be a guard to watch. Followed Pitino from Iona to St. John's and it didn't work out there, but he had a couple good seasons for Hofstra:Ya he is going backwards in the portal . In basketball, you are 100% right, gone are the days of a mid major having 5 guys that are all 22-23 years old and have played together for 3-5 years, that can make a run. BUT you might see a non traditional team (Nebraska, Vandy, Iowa and so on) make a run.
As far as going to class and graduation. So many classes are offered online now, so picking up classes/credits is much easier and I know there is STILL this weird stigma that athletes are stoopid and can't read or write but pretty much all data shows the opposite and the more involved you are in things during HS and college, the better your grades are, so while there are some that will never graduate more of them probably will.
