Has anybody ever taken a class or read a book about negotiating?
Has any politician in American history used that kind of language to negotiate? And if they did, what happened to them? You know the answer that would apply to everybody else but not to Trump because y'all sit on the sidelines and clap like seals no matter how obviously mentally compromised he's become.

I disagree with your premise. Who cares what other world leaders have either said or not said? Trump is Trump...are you really surprised at things trump says?
Trump has his way of doing things. He negotiates his way...he sets unrealistic standards and then works into the point he wants....are we not used to that by now....
Nobody, well maybe some are, is clapping like seals. I know in my case, I'm interested in the result. At this point, no matter what you think of how we got here, trump had few choices....complete surrender, a cease fire and negotiated settlement or eliminating a civilization, He might well have chosen the easiest way out, but may have backed himself into a corner. If the 2 weeks expires with no deal he'll have less that 2 weeks until his WPA authority does away.
I don't know if he's mentally compromised. Remember he's the person we mocked for suggesting the ingestion of bleach...was he any more wonderful a person then, did he use better words or have we just forgotten the chaos then.
Why bring up other world leaders when I specifically said "in American history?"
The words of our president have an outsized impact nationally and globally as evidenced by how global markets react when he makes a stupid statement and/or when he backtracks on it.
They also affect trust in our institutions(he's ruined it), security, diplomatic relations and global alliances(he's destroying them), the mood nationally and abroad(it's sour) and respect for our country(it's been lost).
His words were terrible in his first time term too but at least he didn't threaten extinction level events. He's destabilizing the world as we speak so his words matter - a lot, and we deserve better from an American president than the deranged, rotten, word vomit that he emits on the daily.
