And Iowa State won 1 game to reach the Final Four in 1944
Only 8 teams made NCAA Tourney that yearIt's hard to believe Notre Dame on has one. I realize football is their thing but still.
I would like to see someone re-do this graphic eliminating all the FF's made prior to 1951 when they went to 16 teams.And Iowa State won 1 game to reach the Final Four in 1944
Decided to take it upon myself to re-run those numbers and removing the FFs made prior to 1951. I'm not good at graphics, but here's how the totals would change; there would be 8 schools removed altogether bringing the total of "legit" FF schools from 99 to 91.

Minnesota has zero official Final Fours. They forfeited their appearance following the academic cheating scandal.

Kind of crazy Purdue only has 3 FF appearances. A lot of flameouts with good teams.

Excellent point. I will edit that down to 90 schools who’ve made the FF.
I was looking back one day at past tournament results, and noticed that Purdue was often the victim of earlier round upsets. Keady was an excellent coach but his NCAA Tournament record wasn't all that great considering the teams he had.
