We were up 35-0 at half. A lot of starters got pulled at that point. The plan going in wasn’t give each guy a half (and Christensen got pulled for McNutt in the 4th). My point stands, KF will never say one half belongs to player A and the other goes to player B ahead of time. With all due respect, that's incorrect. In 2008 against Florida International, Stanzi got 1 half and JC got the other when they were fighting for the starting spot and it wasn't settled in fall camp.
I don't know what to tell you.....but KF absolutely did say they were going to give each player one half.We were up 35-0 at half. A lot of starters got pulled at that point. Not really.I don't know what to tell you.....but KF absolutely did say they were going to give each player one half.

wasn't bethard a little bit that way?Ricky and Drew. Nate was a little bit, just didn't run around.
I'm not buying that it's questionable. Seems like we all know who the starter will be, if healthy.
Jeremy has 3 years left.
Good discussion.
Hope we finally have a dude not constantly going to the check down.Jeremy was ahead of Hank at the end of last season.
During spring practices, multiple defenders have commented on how relentless Hecklinski has been at forcing the ball downfield and slinging it all over the facility.
His ability to escape the pocket while keeping his eyes downfield has also been on full display at practices, prompting the word "swagger" to be one of the words frequently thrown around.
The last 300-yard-plus passing game from an Iowa QB occurred in 2019.

QB Jeremy Hecklinski's 'relentless' downfield approach is just what Iowa needs
One of the more interesting position battles to watch during Iowa's spring practices is at the quarterback position. With Mark Gronowski exhausting his eligibildearoldgold.com
too soon.So Brown can now hit wide open 5 yard screen passes?
You really don't think Kirk is going to name a starter after spring practice? To be fair, we haven't seen enough of either QB to determine a starter. By the end of fall camp we will have to trust the decision of the coaches who have seen them in practice every day.
Of course it is fun to speculate, a reason why we post here.
He may or may not name a #1 but it is very likely he will say the competition will carry on into fall camp. You really don't think Kirk is going to name a starter after spring practice?
There's no reason to name a starter prior to fall camp. You might see an announcement as camp opens, but I think you let both of them continue to compete all summer and see where things stand in August. Whether the QBs want to admit it or not, they likely have an idea of where they stand based on their performance this spring. You really don't think Kirk is going to name a starter after spring practice?
Rules have changed since there is finally no spring portal this year. But Kirk basically said when it was around past few years zero reason to post depth chart after spring ball because players more likely to enter not on 2 deeps. Think he’s just going with status quo now. Zero benefit to release depth chart (click bait for us and media but no benefit to him) or name starters, especially in position battles like qb, unless clear cut guy above the rest like MG last year saying he’s our starting qb.You really don't think Kirk is going to name a starter after spring practice?

I mean it has to be Jeremy, right?
For goodness sake.
