Yes but I think Petit might be the real deal and it seems like he’s just hitting his stride. He is still getting better and hasn’t leveled off yetWe need higher level recruits to compete in the B10.

Petit could just be scratching the surface but doesn’t have much in terms of body of work.Christian Alvarez to North Carolina for football and Wrestling.
2 Delsea guys. Petit the 21 seed who won states and DePaul who recently decommited to Buffalo both took visits to Rutgers this week
DePaul seems like the kind of guy who could grind out a solid career at Bloomsburg but definitely not in the big 10Petit could just be scratching the surface but doesn’t have much in terms of body of work.
DePaul looks like a solid NJ wrestler but more likely depth guy.
Buffalo made sense. RU not so much unless he’s paying full tuition as a depth guy.DePaul seems like the kind of guy who could grind out a solid career at Bloomsburg but definitely not in the big 10
Agreed. He came out of nowhere this year but was ridiculous underseeded and is probably a placer as a junior if healthy. Knocked off some legit guys this year, I think he can be a contributor at the next level.Yes but I think Petit might be the real deal and it seems like he’s just hitting his stride. Doesn't seem accurate as others commented Cornell hired him.Interesting one of the comments is that Yianni and Shapiro are headed to VT
$20M anonymous donation in December. Guessing a portion of that is being used for wrestling as they have changed their future overnight. It’s not just MM and BB…they have a slew of other studs coming in.At this point you just have to wonder who Daddy Warbucks is that stepped up to the plate.
That kid isn’t even ranked, we had Billy Towson who was ranked high last year and we also have CJ Huerta who’s ranked 8th @138 coming this year. I doubt Chase Hansen could beat either of them.Does anyone know if RU offered Lower Cape May’s Chase Hansen, who set the state all-time wins record? It seems he would have been a 133 pounder and he is going to Rider.
I wasn’t overly impressed with him at NJ states and it was a particularly weak weight class. If he wrestled at a top program he wouldn’t be close to that number of wins. That kid isn’t even ranked, we had Billy Towson who was ranked high last year and we also have CJ Huerta who’s ranked 8th @138 coming this year. He’s ranked by every ranking system. Flo has #65 overall. That kid isn’t even ranked, we had Billy Towson who was ranked high last year and we also have CJ Huerta who’s ranked 8th @138 coming this year. I doubt Chase Hansen could beat either of them.
he got royally screwed in a one takedown match against the kid that won it and will probably end up a 3xerI wasn’t overly impressed with him at NJ states and it was a particularly weak weight class. If he wrestled at a top program he wouldn’t be close to that number of wins.
First off Flo’s rankings are generally the worst, secondly I looked at Flo’s rankings per weight class and I didn’t see him anywhere. Lastly that kid today isn’t better than who we have and other coming in.He’s ranked by every ranking system. Flo has #65 overall.

Hansen is going to be an AA for rider.
He’s 65 on the Final big board. You have no idea if who we have are better. All we have at the moment is question marks at 133 and 141. He’s good on top and he had over 100 pins that type of thing usually translates to college well.First off Flo’s rankings are generally the worst, secondly I looked at Flo’s rankings per weight class and I didn’t see him anywhere. He'll be lucky if he makes it 10 matches with his injury history and Brands meatgrinder practices.Crookham to Iowa.Bad move on his part.
Was hoping he’d go for us. He just visited.Greyson Pettit to Iowa
Did he get into their law school?. U.S. News and World Report ranks them within the top 35 of all law schoolsCrookham to Iowa.Bad move on his part.
They don’t have meat grinder practices at all in fact they probably have one of the more laid back practice approaches in the country. they do practice lIke Gable did and gable ran practice like nicholls did. It’s an open practice he’ll say ok for the next hr work out at your own pace and just let’s the guys work on what they want or wrestle live or whatever is the wrestler prefers. He'll be lucky if he makes it 10 matches with his injury history and Brands meatgrinder practices.
I have NOT heard this about the Iowa wrestling room but I’m sure he will train however suits him best given his injury historyThey don’t have meat grinder practices at all in fact they probably have one of the more laid back practice approaches in the country. they do practice lIke Gable did and gable ran practice like nicholls did. now the lifting and strength and conditioning I’ve heard they do definitely is going to put some strain on the joints and ligaments . They are doing nfl lineman lifts with 133 pounders
Ive heard for years that was the approach but didnt believe it at first but recently listened to the Dan Gable episode of the full tilt podcast and he explained his approach to practice And where he learned it and i listened to some interviews of other iowa guys on there and the brands run the program exactly how gable did 30 years ago, probably why they are still power lifting like it’s 1985.I have NOT heard this about the Iowa wrestling room but I’m sure he will train however suits him best given his injury history
Maybe, if he can’t stay healthy.. but if he can, brilliant pick up from Iowa.. he’s one of the only legit multiple year title threat in the portal.. Iowa hasn’t been able to develop their own wrestlers at the pace of PSU/Okie state… and of their portals.. it seems getting the mid tier portals hasn’t worked that well for them…Crookham to Iowa.Bad move on his part.
I totally agree that he got screwed against the kid who finished first. I think most observers agreed that the bad call kept him from the state title. I just don’t really know anything about which rankings are credible and which are not so I was curious. I am a little prejudiced because I graduated from Lower Cape May with his grandfather, who did something pretty extraordinary – – never wrestling until he got to high school and then being a state semifinalist as a junior. He’s ranked by every ranking system. Flo has #65 overall.

Pettit is a baller. We need higher level recruits to compete in the B10.
It feels like a lot of our mid tier recruits (#40-100 p4p)..have not been hitting recently, comparatively, the walk-on type recruits have done just as well if not better.. think.. Vanbrills/Perrotti/Gravina/Theobold/SCWWe need higher level recruits to compete in the B10.
