Don't forget about Nebraska's never ending moving screens. That was the game. There was so much reaching. Mast and Sandfort were getting mauled.

Go away. Find posts where I have complained about officiating in the past. One foul is terrible.Duh...its never a husker loss without blaming it on the refs.![]()
Sam had a fine season but he was a turnover machine tonight. That’s another reason why I did not understand keeping Lawrence on the bench for so long.Cale actually played well tonight, as did Berke. The issue was Sam and Rienk were cold all night. That was the difference. Rienk looked out of gas.
Lmao. Like you're gonna be in the playoffs. No ****. Be like it the playoffs come around in football and they just swallow their whistles. Oh wait they don't.
This. People saying he got outcoached have an argument there. No, should have worked them during the game. You think Izzo/hurley/Self would have only 1 foul/half called against them in this game???
Ok? You got me?Lmao. Like you're gonna be in the playoffs.![]()
Sam isn't generating offense on his own. Offensively, we are really, really bad at guard.Sam had a fine season but he was a turnover machine tonight. That’s another reason why I did not understand keeping Lawrence on the bench for so long.
I’m not going to go on a ridiculous rant and say Mast sucks or anything. He’s been an integral part of the program. But he has limitations. And he’s not consistent. He’ll have good games/moments and bad ones. And his shot goes MIA many times. Fred needs more of a 6’10 beast at that slot.Mast has been a good player for us but he got out played tonight. We HAD to have Mast and Jacobsen hit their shots to win.
Not sure there's any shame it that. I think McCollum is the real deal. They had open shots for most of the game, we were really sloppy and had no rhythm 2nd half. We got out coached.
Cale missed wide open shots he usually makes. Not blaming him. Sometimes you just don’t have it. This is the best roster we’ve had in years BUT some of our pieces were outplayed by Iowa’s bench. 37 points off their bench. Unbelievable. Several of them are true freshmen.Cale actually played well tonight, as did Berke. The issue was Sam and Rienk were cold all night. That was the difference. Rienk looked out of gas.
Sir, you are the one acting like a kid.Again, with the kid talk. Seriously, take a step back. If you want to talk as adult, approach others that way.
Not sure if he got tired, but he was inconsistent. It will be interesting to see the point/big next year.I’m not going to go on a ridiculous rant and say Mast sucks or anything. He’s been an integral part of the program. But he has limitations. And he’s not consistent. He’ll have good games/moments and bad ones. And his shot goes MIA many times. Fred needs more of a 6’10 beast at that slot.
I didn’t think Sam had a bad game. That end of half D was pathetic. We HAD to shoot better from 3. End of story.This. It was a great year. And Fred blinked in the bright lights tonight. Dumb D. Dumb 1-3-1 zone at the end of the half. Wouldn’t sit Sam when he was having a bad game. JL barely played the last 10 mins. And to top it off—4 defenders on the court when the game is still up for grabs. How does that HAPPEN—in the freaking sweet 16. I’d expect that from Rhule. Just pathetic that one coach didn’t catch it. I feel bad for the players—they deserved better coaching tonight.
I do believe there is a young one on the roster, he will be ready to step up next year. The lack of good interior play (on both ends) sunk us the last 6 weeks of the season.I’m not going to go on a ridiculous rant and say Mast sucks or anything. He’s been an integral part of the program. But he has limitations. And he’s not consistent. He’ll have good games/moments and bad ones. And his shot goes MIA many times. Talent wise, we have the two wings. We needed a point guard tonight. Same as the first Iowa loss. We don't have anyone that can get down hill.Cale missed wide open shots he usually makes. Not blaming him. Sometimes you just don’t have it. This is the best roster we’ve had in years BUT some of our pieces were outplayed by Iowa’s bench. 37 points off their bench. Unbelievable. Why do you think JL isn’t healthy? I’m honestly asking? Everybody is banged up this time of year, but he hasn’t looked injured in over a month.Who would you put in? JL obviously is not healthy. What would you do?
Nope. You got a very deliberate response to your post. I went to the level you set.Sir, you are the one acting like a kid.
THIS^^^^^^^Sam had a fine season but he was a turnover machine tonight. That’s another reason why I did not understand keeping Lawrence on the bench for so long.
Sam drove to the rim a lot this year. Jacobsen and Lawrence just didn’t have that ability. There are all-around guards and then there are the ones that are basically spot up 3 point shooters. Sam was the one most all aroundFred has to find a couple of transfer guards that can score in other ways besides shooting threes. And a couple of athletic bigs inside.
Get help with your Rhule derangement syndrome.Mostly wide open
I blame that f*cking loser Matt Rhule who once again dressed like an assholee
Sure thing kiddo. Go cry to mommy about the refs when our players couldn’t hit shots when needed most.Nope. You got a very deliberate response to your post. I went to the level you set.
No shame, he’s a good coach, but Fred also didn’t seem to know wtf to do. We were all out of sorts on O, and Iowas D is a step down from Vandy. Not sure there's any shame it that. I think McCollum is the real deal.
We definitely need more of an inside presence. Someone who can take it to the basket with some aggression. We didn’t have that and you can’t rely on nothing but shooters. We saw how that works out tonight when no one else but one guy can hit a shot.I do believe there is a young one on the roster, he will be ready to step up next year. The lack of good interior play (on both ends) sunk us the last 6 weeks of the season.
No, should have worked them during the game. You think Izzo/hurley/Self would have only 1 foul/half called against them in this game???
The football coach is out of timeouts before the 4th quarter starts. And we sat there with 3 TOs we could have used at anytime to get them in the game. Fred waited til 3 mins to do it. He froze…
Ha! Yes, he unquestionably had a bad gameI didn’t think Sam had a bad game. That end of half D was pathetic. We HAD to shoot better from 3. End of story.
Well, with the youth on their team and their coach, they aren’t going away. It's a rivalry. I ******* hate losing to these guys constantly. It sucks!
Live by the 3….. die by the 3 teams make for some really exciting seasons but typically don’t make it a long ways into the tournament. Almost always comes down to dominate interior play, that’s who wins. Not even dominate just have a decent presence inside, grab rebounds, make it hard to score on you.We definitely need more of an inside presence. Someone who can take it to the basket with some aggression. We didn’t have that and you can’t rely on nothing but shooters. We saw how that works out tonight when no one else but one guy can hit a shot.
There you are again.Sure thing kiddo. Go cry to mommy about the refs when our players couldn’t hit shots when needed most.
Nebraska only had three fouls until they had to foul at the end. Fact.Go away. Find posts where I have complained about officiating in the past. One foul is terrible.
Was Nebraska the more physical team?Nebraska only had three fouls until they had to foul at the end. Fact.
I said earlier they don’t call games as tight in the tournament. Nebraska only had 3 fouls in the 2nd half prior to Berke having to foul on the breakaway dunk. We also spent the 2nd half settling (and missing) 3’s. We didn’t put them in position to have to foul us.I'll also say this....Nebraska gave it away, but the fact that they only call a single foul on Iowa in 20 minutes is criminal and Fred should absolutely light them up in the post game....
We don't have finishers except for Frager. Surprisingly Sam is decent around the rim, but we aren't making a living with him in the middle. Both teams played well, some great shooting! Iowa stayed patient against our chase D and it do two things in the long run - wore our guys out, they just looked tired and Iowa as able to be patient and move the ball not just settling for the first open shot. Did Mast make any outside shots? They lured us to drive the lane and we don’t have the horses for that then we gave them the lane and took advantage.
Now we see what Fred can do going forward, will Sandfort come back and can this program compete in the B1G consistently or was this a flash in the pan?
