We get mad when the coach cry after games. We get mad when coach misses every 5 star recruit. We get mad when he has to take our third option on each recruit. We get mad when we are embarrassed about paying 22M for below average roster.
We get mad, baby. We get mad when we get a top two portal recruiting class. We get mad when we get an in-state recruit. We get mad when we get a top 15 high school recruiting class. We get mad, baby!

Coz we mad, baby. We get mad over players going to the NBA. We get mad if our players aren’t on mock drafts. We get mad if our coach looks unhinged. We get mad if our coach is too docile. We get mad if the coach talks to the press. We get mad if the coach doesn’t talk to the press. We get mad if the coach doesn’t play the freshman. We get mad if the coach plays the freshman. We get mad, baby.

I believed his dad’s story about him really wanting to play but something about his reading manga in the locker room and giving the most generic but firm on ‘I’m gone’ answers to questions is making me wonder… just weird vibes. Your ‘team’ is in March madness and won on a legendary shot and that’s your energy?

is this something that we didn’t know already?

nothing new here. Move on.

my question to Pope is , since we care about the name in front of the jersey, why allowing still this guy be associated with UK program and his dad to travel on UK money and out this crap out as a distraction before our NCAA game. It show selfish this whole Q family is.

We just can’t take anybody that had an ACL tear the previous year. It will never work out for Kentucky, there will always be a reason or another that a player that was hurt the year before can’t play the next year here. It will never work.

Pope Signed a Guy for a lot of money, knowing he can't play. He played well against St. Johns.

JQ's dad said that Pope didn't like JQ playing "that way." JQ was bad next game because Pope wanted to play him different."

Then "swelling in the knee."

I wonder if he's sitting out because Pope doesn't allow JQ to play the way he can. I wonder if his camp said eff it, he's not playing.

If Pope does sign Stokes and Stokes pulls the same shiz.. BBN is gonna flip cars.
Maybe I'm just too cynical but I have no doubt they shut it down because they thought how he played those last two games was starting to hurt his stock, and probably blamed Pope (fairly or unfairly). Then JQ started to get some heat from the fans a few weeks ago and what do you know, there's talk that he's really close and will probably play again soon. Of course nothing came of that, it was just a smoke screen to get people to stop criticizing him.

And what's extra disappointing to me is Aberdeen ended up being a very good PG once he settled into the role. What I think this team really could've used then was a consistent post presence, rebounder, and rim protector, all of which JQ theoretically would've provided.

Sharpe was a turning point in the Cal tenure and if things don't work out here with Pope I think this whole deal with JQ will be a nonzero factor. At least we're not the only program dealing with it, I guess!

I'd rather he went pro than transfer to Florida or Duke or UCONN. I think the knee must be okay or they think it will be by combine time because if it were not he'd fall out of the top 20 and it would not make sense for him to stay in the draft.
I’d love for him to transfer and let another team deal with his BS and his dad.

Kick his *** off the team already. But no… won’t happen because Pope is as nutless as Barnhart.
I swear to god, makes me sick. F him. He is making more than 95% of the commonwealth will in their lives to sit in the bench. “I’m just sitting here, ugh trying to like enjoy the trip I guess. It was a super fun time going to get massages and ice packs while looking at my bank account. My knee feels great and I can’t wait for the combine.”

I think A LOT of people would have a lot of respect for Pope if he announced that the kid was removed from the roster so that he can heal up for the draft.
I would stop giving him **** if he didn’t let him travel to the tournament at all. Nobody should be interviewing him. I’d hold him out of all press stuff. He doesn’t deserve to even wear his warm ups.

I think his dad is making a huge mistake. This is going to be a loaded draft. Especially with big men. He might slide all the way to the second round. Crazier things have happened. He'd be better off to tell his dad he's coming back to UK to work on his offensive skills. But no, his dad is anxious to get more money.
I want to know what he’s done to prove he’s draft-able at all. I wouldn’t touch his injured non offensive having butt with a 20 foot pole in this draft.

Idk if I’ve ever heard him speak.

based on that clip- I don’t see him ever making it in the nba. Sounds more like he should be at a magic the gathering group meet.

I don't know much about NIL, but these deals seem to be completely one sided in favor of the players. Are there any binding expectations on the players at all? I just get the feeling that if a player wants to sit out, that he can just decide to do it, for any reason whatsoever. I understand that it's not technically the schools paying the players, maybe that's the issue. But the school definitely assists (along with JMI) with them getting deals. I'd feel a lot better as a fan if I knew there were contractual obligations to play if it's at all possible and doctors have cleared them.
No player would sign a contract with those kinds of restrictions. It’s going to take an act of Congress to fix this.

Bye and don't let the door hit you on the way out. JQ is not going to have the draft night experience as he expected. Not only knee concerns but his offensive game is non existent othen than dunking. Should be shooting free throws during hus free time.
Like UK someone will take a chance on him in the Pros. He's going to be a very wealthy young man for awhile. He's best save some of that money cuz I don't see him as a long term player.
Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice shame on me.

He will be cleared to practice the day after the season is over. My question is, since he did help us beat St. John's does he get a jersey in the Rafters? Good Bye JQ, you had us all on the edge of our seats wondering if you were coming back, thanks for bringing clarity to that.
