If you’re just going to waste NIL dollars in baseball- then for sure a great defensive catcher who can hit should be one of your top 1–2 priorities from day one. Spending big on a catcher has higher ROI than most other positions because that one player impacts every defensive inning and stabilizes the most important part of the game- pitching. A true catcher difference maker is worth every penny because he touches every single pitch and can swing close games- as we are seeing and have already seen this year. It doesn’t look like we are wasting money correctly.

Pretty sure the guy we expected to be our main catcher is still coming back from back issues and can't catch a double header. I could be wrong.
