That award is already named for Woody Hayes.Cael should be ineligible, and the name of the award should be, “Big 10 Cael Sanderson Coach of the Year”
I was curious so I finally asked how they decided. The answer i got was it was a close contest between Ryan and Manning. Ryan finished a strong second at Bigs and Manning won 3 matches in the dual. Then Cael explained, "we respect all of our competitors, right. We know they will wrestle us hard, and we just love to compete, right. With Coach Ryan and Ohio State we know we are getting their best effort and it is just fun to compete with Ohio State so we have our guys rested and ready to get a test and give a test. With Coach Manning and Nebraska we know we are getting their best effort too. So we like to train the heck out of the kids that week so they get a quality contest with the added adversity of battling through fatigue against a qualitycompetitor. Right."Cael should be ineligible, and the name of the award should be, “Big 10 Cael Sanderson Coach of the Year”
See Post #27. Sorry for the self promotionmaybe I miss this but who actually votes for these awards is it coaches or media or just Ohio State ? Thanks
Basketball Nebraska was 15-5 and the coach was big 10 coach of the year. It happens in many sports. Michigan was 19-1I was curious so I finally asked how they decided. So the decision was Ryan since Ohio State did better when both competed and got stomped against a rested PSU team.
If it's named after Woody Hayes then Cael didn’t have a puncher's chance! That award is already named for Woody Hayes.
Thanks for the information. It is relevant, maybe. Somehow. 7-13 to 15-5 is nice improvement. I probably would have gone with the guy who coached up his team from 15-5 to 19-1 like the media did.Basketball Nebraska was 15-5 and the coach was big 10 coach of the year.
