dont agree at all. go look at (1) all of the RU team and player records, notice how many record holders across all categories are from his tenure (2) compare conference wins under Pike to any other coach (3) compare NCAA tournament appearances to any other RU coach..

for Rutgers, what I just said absolutely qualifies as good. they aren't Duke - in fact they are complete opposite - so even being mediocre would classify as an 'up year' for RU relative to RU performance overall.

no other coach is going to change that, or want to take on the job. meanwhile, you also have coaches broadly across the conference praising this guy that we already have. but im sure "ridge 22" knows best!
ridiculous

Amazing how everyone always forgets Tom Young.

Yeah he is auditioning now and completely sucks...usc next year?
USC is not in the best place right now. don't know if you saw what happened the other day but their best player got kicked off the team at halftime. and then he went and sat in the stands.

I'd be more worried about UCLA. however if Mark wants minutes I cant see him getting more at a high major than here with us. make him an offer he can't refuse.

Does Rutgers get extra credit for seeding in the B1G tourney if this ends in a blowout?🥸

Nittany Lions have packed it in for the season

22-4 Rutgers run over almost 9 minites
Is it possible for you to credit Pike for keeping the team engaged and improving this team dramatically? Lino Mark is probably most improved player from beginning of the year to end than anyone else in the country. Nwuli and Powers also starting to play very good

Did the PSU JV team step off the bus? Very little effort by these guys….one thing our team does is we play hard nearly every game, we had a few duds but for the most part our guys give effort. I don’t know if we will get a win at conf tourney, but I do expect that we’ll play hard.

He wanted a free Shake for everyone, could argue it was the hardest that PSU tried at anything today

He plays hard, like his life depends on getting a steal and then flying down to the bucket for the score. In that sense, as far as effort is concerned, I get Caleb vibes from him. They are not the exact same type of player, but just from an effort standpoint. Caleb’s effort was always an 11 on a 1 to 10 scale.

i will wait to see what happens this offseason before any predictions for next year. So many unknowns, who comes back, who they can get in the portal, will any of the younger players continue to improve?
Sure anything can happen But what is the the likelihood to you that giving an ineffective coach more money to do more of the same will suddenly yield different results? The guy has been here a decade. At his peak, he was mid and has looked overwhelmed since then.

So now we are getting scolded for not giving Pike enough credit for keeping the awful team he put together engaged in a lost season? Lol.

He basically has one year. As was stated by the announcers. Led us to the tournament something hadn’t been done for a long time. Looks like we may some some money for the portal. Be smart with it…..who knows. My fandom won’t allow me to write off next season…..yet

Agreed, there are several I would keep and for sure he’s one of them. But everything we hear is that he has 2 feet out the door.

the lack of offensive boards, even against such a shyyyty PSU team, is just astounding. Ball up for the shot and we still immediately transition to defense while up by double digits.
Offensive boards? Rutgers has 3, and PSU has 4. Overall, Rutgers has 29 boards, and PSU has 24 at the 11:44 mark.
