team has built so much chemistry this season... improve them overall in the portal and next season will feel a lot different

the lack of offensive boards, even against such a shyyyty PSU team, is just astounding. Ball up for the shot and we still immediately transition to defense while up by double digits.
what's your definition of "good?" remember RU has gone - at best - 12-8 in the big 10. this is without money to make them at least have salary in the ballpark of other teams they compete with in conference.
if they just won 6 games this year, but now for next year have way more money YOY, you really think they cant get to something even like 10-10 in b1g? then you retain all the young core again, and the following year???
but if you want to be retarded and blame the underperformance on pike immediately, and not think over a long time frame (like eveyone else who actually makes the decisions) then yeah - ruin the young momentum and blow it all up to go 6-14 again
There used to be a time when you had an idea of what your team would look like the following year. From there, you could map out a plan to further enhance the quality of your team.
None of what you described would qualify as good. But at least we agree that Pike really hasn't accomplished anything very impressive over his time here.
i will wait to see what happens this offseason before any predictions for next year. So many unknowns, who comes back, who they can get in the portal, will any of the younger players continue to improve?
Man Lino Mark can get to the tin. Gonna be painful watching him do that somewhere else next year.
dont agree at all. go look at (1) all of the RU team and player records, notice how many record holders across all categories are from his tenure (2) compare conference wins under Pike to any other coach (3) compare NCAA tournament appearances to any other RU coach..
for Rutgers, what I just said absolutely qualifies as good. they aren't Duke - in fact they are complete opposite - so even being mediocre would classify as an 'up year' for RU relative to RU performance overall.
no other coach is going to change that, or want to take on the job. meanwhile, you also have coaches broadly across the conference praising this guy that we already have. but im sure "ridge 22" knows best!
