Similar things were at times posted to the Rivals board, but those things were quickly cleaned up and promptly addressed with the poster as warranted. This Board seems to be a bit looser and slightly more disorganized.Am I the only one who hates to see this kind of stuff creeping into our wrestling board? I don’t remember seeing much of it on the old rivals board, but it seems to be getting more prevalent here lately.
I’m a Jaffa Shriner and left to pick up a family from Lewistown and take them to Philadelphia Shriners hospital. My adventure started at 3:45am. 500 miles later pulling by into AltoonaYep, was just reading that (albeit, not as early as you, ha!)
Barring a financial stake in Wrestlestat, can't fathom the rationale for abstaining, and the NW no vote is of course interesting.
You’re not the only woman here. I don’t post often, but read daily. Not sure why it matters- but I’ve been female my whole life. Hopefully, as girls and women’s wrestling grows, there will be more women on the board!

You need more than 1 data point though. Mrs. Reslo isn't a wrestling fan either, but that doesn't mean it's not increasingly popular. You'll never see growth in it, it's not like wrestling is anything new. For example my wife will gladly watch Penn State wrestling with me on TV. Or go call girlfriend or a relative and talk while I watched the match. She has no desire to ever attend a match, a tournament, or watch anything other than maybe the finals on TV.
She'll go to see a hockey game, maybe a football game, or a concert.
Wrestling is a real niche sport and even many lifetime Penn State alumni fans, barely watch college wrestling, even though Penn State is currently so dominant.
My wife hasn't been to a match with me in decades. Both girls used to go to HS matches, districts, regionals and states. My granddaughters don't wrestle but both have gone to PSU matches with me. The first time I tried explaining what a move was or who the PSU wrestler is, or who he is wrestling they have looked at me and said, "pap, I know who that is" or "pap, I know what a single is". They are both fans. You need more than 1 data point though. Mrs. Reslo isn't a wrestling fan either, but that doesn't mean it's not increasingly popular.

Women's wrestling is the fastest growing sport at the high school level, with over 74,000 participants in 2024-25, compared to 49,000 in 2023-24.
Did she wrestle? My point is as more women are ex-wrestlers, interest may growYou'll never see growth in it, it's not like wrestling is anything new. My wife will watch MMA, Muay Thai, or BJJ all day, but absolutely hates wrestling. My older kids (14yr old girl and 10yr old boy) began wrestling before school, then transitioned to BJJ, which they competed in until recently; they can not stand wrestling either. I gave up trying to understand. My wife loves most sports, but hates amateur wrestling. She even likes curling in the winter Olympics, but who doesn't, LOL.
The women's program can only help the sport. More eyes more participants. How about a women's & men's dual at Rec same day.You need more than 1 data point though. Mrs. Reslo isn't a wrestling fan either, but that doesn't mean it's not increasingly popular.

Not actually buying baschs argument roe data science. The problem is that the data set is waaaaay to small to have any statistical power behind it. Particularly in you have a criterion like too that can become go/no go without any volume weighting
May be hard to believe, and perhaps they've run away when seeing you, but there are women on the planet besides your wife. Try using binoculars to find themYou'll never see growth in it, it's not like wrestling is anything new. For example my wife will gladly watch Penn State wrestling with me on TV. Truly a man with good, strong convictions. I salute you!Screw your tie, how were her breasts? Remember, photos or it didn't happen.
I assumed the same lolDid you transition to a women or were you born a woman, I just assumed there were no women on the board , guess I was wrong.
Reminds me of the old movie, The Birds, by Alfred Hitchcock.

I noticed at the ohio state dual at bjc there were a lot of women there. Nice surprise and i agree it would be nice if more were interested in this sport[

We like our women!!
It's about time you show some Goddam class! My apologies no more pics of women
Be careful of the questions you ask; you may not want to hear the answer. My wife hasn't been to a match with me in decades. Both girls used to go to HS matches, districts, regionals and states. Not sure my wife would allow that lmfaoMay be hard to believe, and perhaps they've run away when seeing you, but there are women on the planet besides your wife. Try using binoculars to find them
so simple go by most matches best record in and out of conference thats it back ups count thats it!
The Ducks probably would've been a decent concept for a monty python satire of it.Reminds me of the old movie, The Birds, by Alfred Hitchcock.

I'll be watching the conference championships alone, but I have a friend (former wrestler) coming to watch the NCAA finals with me.
It’s kind of like locker room talk, some good some bad but they’re still on my team knuckle heads or not (within reasonable exception).Am I the only one who hates to see this kind of stuff creeping into our wrestling board? I don’t remember seeing much of it on the old rivals board, but it seems to be getting more prevalent here lately.
It has not.I have a stupid question / observation.
Has the B1G released the underlying raw numbers, originating from the goofy 3rd party rating service, that resulted in the quizzical pre-seeds?

Perhaps it’s just me but I smell B1G fvchery originating from Rosemont IL.It has not.
If it's AI they had no idea how to use it. AI needs quality inputs and it improves with better framed questions/inputs. First iteration can be alarmingly bad. Anyway you break down what they did it seems clear that wrestling backups (ducked in some cases) was punitive and so was having limited matches. we can argue the merits of that data. an 8 dual in conference schedule when there's 14 teams isn't ideal either. I guess 5 more in conference duals is just too difficult? If this is “AI” I want no part of it.
Took me a while to get used to it, fighting from your back seems so counterintuitive (and frankly, sissy/unmanly/whatever). My wife and daughter are not going to outwrestle a 200lbs. grown man. But, that man can't do anything unless they can get past their legs and good luck getting past their guard (with ankles intact) unless you know what you are doing; their guard games are really, really good. My son and I are a lot more aggressive and pretty much never pull guard. I love to wrestle, hence my destroyed shoulders. The only time I'll pull guard is if I'm rolling with someone I'm afraid I'll hurt with a takedown or explosive guard pass...or a really good wrestler, who will otherwise smash me.I don't know why but when I see BJJ I think of this scene:

To me it has some weird rules about fighting from your back.
This makes no sense .May be hard to believe, and perhaps they've run away when seeing you, but there are women on the planet besides your wife. Try using binoculars to find them
Women don't watch sports as much as men watch . Sports fans in general don't watch free:folk style wrestling very often. I'm literally know Penn State fans might watch the finals of the NCAAs maybe .May be hard to believe, and perhaps they've run away when seeing you, but there are women on the planet besides your wife.
