I can't wait to watch this board meltdown in a mental episode when Mitch's number 2 is announced as his replacement lol

Lol, I am pretty confident I don't care about your assessment - the only place Mitch isn't highly regarded, is this board, so get over yourself
Number 1 that’s false. He’s not highly regarded at all. Never, not once, did another school even inquire other than Kansas, and they rejected it. He’s never been approached at all by anyone else.

He’s actually despised, by a lot of people. I realize you’re not aware of that, but it’s 200%. He isn’t liked. And not just in the contributor department, go to any social media platform. Universally hated. It’s weird to see someone actually prop up a hatchet man like Mitch Barnhart. Interesting, haven’t seen many.

It could happen, but it’s doubtful at this point. Mitch wanted 2 more years, but the heat got too hot and he had to go on out. He was telling a lot of people back last summer he would retire from UK in 2027/8. But he couldn’t hold on. I doubt he’ll be able to pull his understudy seeing as how he was moved on earlier than he wanted.

They hire her who’s connected to JMI and that deal and we’ve got a corrupt situation in Lexington and the governor needs to get involved. No way. This is a corrupt system we’ve got here at UK. It’s unbelievable to even suggest it. But they’ll try, and they’ll try and say because she’s a woman you can’t talk about anything else. When it’s strictly a play to remove Barnhart to make it appear they’re cleaning out when it’s simply to move pieces around.

Jesus, help us boosters. Kentucky fans better go nuclear like Tennessee and Texas A&M fans if she’s hired or we’ll forever be known as a bunch of cucks who lets this admin do whatever they want. We better not say we’re the “greatest fanbase in all of college basketball” if this happens.

Yup I think if she is hired we should all riot. Corruption at its finest. I’d ask the AG to look into it but they probably are paid off too.

Randall Stephenson's AT&T retirement package will make you want to vomit, lol.

Former AT&T CEO Randall Stephenson retired with a substantial package in 2020, featuring a pension valued at approximately $64 million, providing over $230,000 to $274,000 MONTHLY for life. He also received $27.6 million in deferred earnings, a $1 million consulting deal for the following year, and additional executive life insurance benefits.

So Barnhardt now has an advisory role with UK aka gave himself a Golden Parachute. PLEASE MITCH, JUST GO AWAY AND ENJOY RETIREMENT.
I can totally see Mitch meddling and imparting his "wisdom" onto the New AD who will likely be picked with his influence.

Mitch 2.0 is lurking in the shadows.

He's getting $950k per year in retirement. The only good contract Mitch negotiated was his own.

I am sure his hand-picked replacement will be great. 😔
It’s unbelievable that the only contract this man has ever created worth a damn is his own in retirement. I was thinking the same thing. I keep saying it don’t listen to what he says or this nonsense about his reputation as an ethical man. He’s a hatchet man narcissist and everything he does in action shows it non stop. He uses our programs to hire men seen as above it when it’s all just to cover what he’s really doing. And who can survive being an AD in the SEC with his record of achievement in major sports if they aren’t corrupt in another area. Can’t be possible.

I'm fairly neutral concerning Mitch.

He's done SOME good things here. But he's also set the dept behind in modern athletics and NIL.

But the other poster has every right to his assessment. Sounds like YOU are the one that needs to get over himself.

Because that would be more of the same. And there are areas where we are behind in modern college athletics.

This‼️ He's done far more harm than good. Good riddance to this weight around UK Athletics' neck.

Next up: GTFO Sleepy Eli Capilouto.

(One caveat on my reaction: still undecided on Pope.)
Edit: no longer undecided on Pope. Fire his substandard a$$. Go back to medical school.

The first order of business in his advisory role will be recommending one of his flunkies to replace him.
