All UK fans want to win. This team has been inconsistent all season and is going to lose at least 12 games most likely and not gonna win the SEC regular season and unlikely to win the SEC tournament. I'm not sure what flex u are trying to accomplish here.

Great win in an up and down season.

The positive s.hit is a whole lot easier to figure out then the negative 🥳

For sure. I just I guess I don’t get it. Hey I’m now in favor of a coaching change, that’s likely not going away because I don’t see him ever being better than other options. We still want him to win games. But the board has vastly changed over the last 20-25 years. You wouldn’t have ever seen something so low rent back then. Trying to find the reason. All I can figure is it’s a young fan that’s into seen the last 7 years ish. But then we’ve had way better wins than this, and I don’t think he’s trolling? I don’t know. Weird flex.
I’m not a new fan. I am in my 30s and have been a fan of theirs since 98. Back then we actually used to cheer on our team. We used to not hope they lose to fulfill peoples agendas. You can’t be serious to think people on here have done nothing but bash this team.
It has been a very inconsistent year and disappointing but don’t you think there are reasons besides “pope can’t coach”? Be realistic with yourself. More than half this board loves to dog this team

I don’t get the purpose of this thread. We have zero recruits locked up for next year. You can both be excited that the team has fought back after a horrific start…yet also be concerned about the direction of the program.

I don't know who you are referring to, but UK did punch it's ticket to the big dance today IMO. Most fans are not going to be happy with it coming down to beating Vandy in Rupp at the end of February to secure a tournament bid. That is just a fact.

Yes, they have been inconsistent but there are so many on here who act like they want Kentucky to lose. You don’t think if we have our 3 injured players.. we would have won a couple more of those games we lost? You are delusional as heck if you say we wouldn’t. Are we a title team, no. Do I want us to get to the mountaintop.. of course. But people need to be realistic with this team and the injury issues. Even with our injuries.. we are a second weekend team. Who knows what we could have been with a fully healthy roster. You can go along and cry we won.
It’s been the effort! Of course we know about the injuries and I’m sure we probably win a couple more, but the guys who do play still can play defense and play like they care about winning. Hopefully they have turned it around and give their all every minute on the floor.

I get the calling out ****** fans. ****** fans been calling for pope since game one. We had 3 injuries and potentially 11 players back. Same ones whine about freshmen and pope sucking are trolls. It was a good win.

Plus many of them were bizarre enough to think Pope would be fired or walk way after 2 years. LMAO! Amateur hour.

You’re chatting with dudes that have been fans a hell of a lot longer than you. This isn’t UK basketball. Today was really good, but don't just look at today, look at the entire resume and the disturbingly bad recruiting.
We all understand there are injuries, but you can't lose at home to teams like UGA, or on the road to Vandy by 25, after you've shown you can win at UT and at Arkansas. This is something Pope has done constantly.
He did it at BYU. Won at Kansas, lost the next game at home to UCF. That's a problem.

This was a good win. All wins are good but these late are more important.

But it does show how much Pope has held these players back. I’ve not one to bash these players. I’ve said all season we don’t have a player problem.

This class was number 2.

UK is a very poorly coached team. One good win doesn’t change that.

Popette logic is that Pope outcoached Vandy today. But not that Vandy outcoached Pope there. That was the officials there.

So Pope had outcoached the other guy 19 times and been cheated 10?

For his career.

Really? Are you retarded? 5 years old?
Why? Just why?

I’m more of an optimist than most, but, honestly, I can’t really blame fans for not being. And then you come on here and have to show your ***. Why not just celebrate with a drink, and enjoy the rest of the games tonight?

The very last thing I want, is for Pope to fail. I want him to be great here, but I'm not sure he's ready for this and after the last 5 years of Cal, I'm not interested in another long string of ten loss seasons.
His recruiting and substitution patterns are disturbingly bad.
If he gets to a FF bext year, after a great season, I will be stoked, but there will be no crow on my plate. We have ten losses and many of those were caused by lack of preperation and massive recruiting/portal misses.

I've got us 20-9. I dont give a **** what anyone says we didn't lose the Auburn game
You’re counting a game that nobody is counting, isn’t real, and we went 14 assist 14 turnovers? To a 14-12 team? Does LSU get their luck hair Mary back? We’ve won game we shouldn’t have we’ve lost game we shouldn’t have. If you’re going to do that then be consistent and start handing some back.

Collin extended his arms and helped sell the guys flop. No it doesn’t count and we’ve been hosed WAY WORSE than that after not giving up 14 turnovers. What an awful take.

If people would actually go back and watch that flop, you’ll quickly see why it’s easily called. Keep your hands up don’t touch. Collin was as responsible as the ref was.

Could guy be young I guess? Been living around 19 and only really seen Cals last 5 and this? All I can figure. If that’s the case this is definitely big to him.

I'm a 67 year old fkn boomer Grad, and this game was big to me. I will feel better until we lose again, what is wrong with that? Your 40 and know it all, and not a fan really at all, it's eating you up inside, because some of us still have pride 😜.

I'm not a "fire Pope" guy, I want him to at least get his 3rd year and not have to deal with injuries, but I fully understand why do many want Pope out. He just may not be ready for this.
If you are all in on Pope, that's fine, but just enjoy the win. We're unranked, with 10 losses, inconsistent as hell and Pope missed on all of his recruiting targets. Things aren't great.

You forgot to include being short handed because of key injuries. Let’s be totally fair, and not just pick and choose what fits your argument. Yeah, definitely some games that we didn’t seem ready to play. Pope is still a better floor coach than anyone we’ve had here in years. The thing he has to get better at is his sub patterns. Drives me crazy.

I’m also tired of fans saying he can’t recruit. By almost all accounts, everyone thought he had a loaded roster this season. Injuries, and perhaps Diaboute being overhyped, have mitigated the loaded roster agreement.

Look, getting High School players signed just isn’t as important as it used to be. Pope will have a really good roster next season. Just needs to have a healthy season, with no key injuries, and then see what happens.

Actually I don't think that is totally true, there are either some fans who would rather UK lose so they can post fire Pope, Fire Mitch etc, or we have several trolls on this site pretending to be fans.

We are capable of playing very well.
We are capable of playing very poorly.
We are very inconsistent.
We are very unpredictable.
We tend to play better as underdogs.
Our inconsistency is frustrating.
We can be a good team, when we shoot well.
We have not been a high-level team.
We have not been a special team.
Injuries are a factor, but not an excuse.
We are not as good as expected.
We need consistent play the rest of the way.
That is the challenge, not impossible.

Yeah, the injuries suck, but Pope rolled the dice on JQ and that was a bad decision.

He was also trying to play way too many players. That wont work.

Recruiting most certainly is a problem. The last freshman class had legit stars all over it and we got none of them, with 22 million to spend. He also only got 1 pg and he was injury prone.

Another point on the injuries, you can only use that for so long. When you sweep Tennessee, beat SJ and win at Arkansas, you told on yourself. You can't follow those wins up with 25 and 35 point beat downs and losses at home to uga, unc and Mizzou.

As far as what we thought of this roster, well, it should have been good, it's better than 10 losses, but none of us is making 5 million a year to evaluate players and judge who is a good fit, Pope is getting that money and he’s in that chair. He needed to get Dent, Wilkerson and the kid that went to Michigan, or at least 2 of them. How do you get beat out by that idiot at UCLA for Dent?

I can't disagree. I see that and I don't understand it. Pope is one of us. I don't want him to fail and I definitely don't want to see him get run out of town.
But, I also don't want him to be "Ten loss Tubby 2.0".
