I need to stop thinking about this and get on with my weekend, but almost every last thing about this game sucked big balls.
- PSU shooting the ball like a Top 10 team all day long.
- Iowa going into a complete shell when up 5 with 4:30 to go, when in the double-bonus
- Being outscored 9-2 in last 4 minutes (or whatever the hell it was)
- Coach riding Hausen so much when he hasn't seen a single second of PT since Valentine's Day
- Tate Sage left rotting on the bench for the whole 2nd half
- Stirtz being almost a complete non-factor for most of the game
- Manyawu fouling 3 straight times on one PSU possession that put them in the double-bonus at the end of the game
- Hawks letting 14 seconds roll off the clock before finally fouling on PSU's 2nd to last possession
- etc, etc, etc
The only things that were worth celebrating in this game were Coop's 18 points, the two 'Folgers at the cup!', and the 19 points scored off PSU turnovers. Everything else was a big shidstain.
Coach really needs to work on a new offensive system for next season that sees the team going into shot-taking mode with 8-10 seconds on the shot clock instead of 3-5 like they do now. Holding on to the ball till the bitter end and forcing up tough shots to beat the clock really stands out on how bad that strategy can be in games like this one and the Maryland loss.
