thanks to a significant donation, as well as support from the athletic department, i can say with 99% certainty that both Madison and Favour will be back.

now with money for the first time in four years, we are going to see just what kind of recruiter Sam Purcell is for women’s basketball. He cannot have a losing season in the conference next year. Next year will be put up or shut up time.

I like Purcell, I don't think it's so much his x and o's but more of him being too soft and nice. I think the players like him but he is more of not getting on them. How you practice leads to how you play; I know this from my coaching days.

This is the correct answer . . . . .
Recruiting isn’t his problem. He is just not a good X’s and O’s guy.

If you've watched this team and it's not obvious to you that we are in desperate need of a quality PG and a quality post player, then I've got serious questions about your basketball knowledge.

It may well be that Sam also can't coach but we don't have top half of the SEC talent and that is very apparent vs teams that do.

But this is the 2nd season in 4 where he has lost a team that appeared headed for a tourney spot. The pressure should absolutely be on him to produce something approaching progress and program building next season.

How do you know how they practice? I haven't watched the girls team play since Vic left, so I have no idea what type of coach he is.

No he’s good at both. His problem is his roster has gotten plundered after each season and has to rebuild with undervalued players because of a lack of funding
Not true. He lost Okot and that's it. Anyone else that left was basically encouraged to leave. We aren't very athletic or physical & play little to no defense, and turn the ball over. We've looked the same just about every year he's been here. He's a mediocre coach.

I think most of us should know this from life but unfortunately many don’t.

Outside of the top 5/6 women teams MSU could play with anyone in the country for at least 1 half.

The depth and consistency are just lacking. I mean, it’s women’s basketball. This isnt the Lakers. I think we have done pretty well in a loaded league. The turnovers are what make the product really hard to watch.
They do play extremely hard, runs sets and try and share the ball.

Francis is worth the price of admission.

We're definitely not competitive with the best teams. They have mostly destroyed us this year.
I call this season being competitive. I think he would get a look if have a 2-14 SEC season. I want us to win in women's basketball but I'm sure not punching a wall with a loss.

And I bet they are pouring money into it to be competitive.
There are schools where women’s basketball is important to the alumni. It just isn’t to ours. There might have been a thread or two about how much we spend on baseball compared to other schools. If I remember correct one of those was the last word on the matter so I’m sure it won’t come up again.

I saw where money has been raised for Frances and Lampley for next year. If so, that would be a good start.
