…Quantance finally over? No mention of this quitter before the game. How insulting that Pope kept up the “swelling” nonsense for over a month.

What a colossal waste of time and money with this quitter. Just a joke.

Sits on the bench with that stupid looking hair collecting millions of dollars pretending to still be hurt.

How do people like you function day to day in society? Seriously I don’t understand. Do you have no brain power to comprehend that everything people say may not be the full truth? Using situational awareness, logic, common sense
Woah. Good lord brother. I was just asking if there’s some story that came out that I wasn’t aware of. Get back on your medication.

Did I miss something? Did we find out he’s actually not hurt?
He’s been cleared to play for a long time.

He’s choosing to sit out, allegedly because of “swelling” …which is not an actual injury, and is a perfectly normal thing for players who’ve had an ACL repair. Most players choose to play through it, JQ chooses otherwise.

A bit strange (but unsurprising considering it's you) that you'd be so focused on the kid's hair. Like I said, not at all surprising considering.

Some of you see a conspiracy everywhere you look. None of us have his charts, so you have no clue what the actual status of his knee is currently aside from what we hear in the media. Quit acting like you know things for a fact and other people are dumb for not agreeing with your pure conjecture.

Maybe he's good to play, maybe he's actually had a set back. None of us know what's going on for sure.

I think Mark Pope went into the JQ deal thinking he would play when he got healthy. Now that more than likely he could play and won’t, Mark Pope looks like a fool. I think he’s learned a hard lesson on this one. It would have been big for us going down the stretch to have him in the middle, but his daddy and agent had different plans. It sucks for UK and it sucks for the fans but great for JQ. I don’t think you see him make this mistake again.

I was under the impression he was legitimately hurt. Isn’t coming back 8 or 9 months after a torn ACL pretty much unprecedented? He looked noticeably worse after the St John’s game as well. I personally think it’s a legit injury and think the fault lies on Pope for even bringing him on for this year. I don’t lay any fault on the kid.

He could play.

Just like kirk Krissy or whatever his name last year could have.

Instead they sit for personal gain.
Kerr Krissa? I’m as skeptical as anyone with these guys sitting out now but he was legit hurt. He broke his foot and we all saw it happen. Not to mention he still hobbled down the floor to finish the play on defense with the broken foot.

I have zero bad feelings towards Kerr.

Sharpe and Quaintance on the other hand…

How about he put himself out there and took the money.

8-9 months was uncommon 15+ years ago but it’s become much more common now.

Pope won’t do it because he doesn’t have to balls but if I were him I’d absolutely stop payment on NIL checks.

To think he got $3M to come here and play less than 40 minutes all year is infuriating. Not to mention all the free training and rehab he was provided.

Kid essentially screwed us twice. First with the decommit last year and then this year coming here to collect fat checks and not play.

NIL has destroyed college basketball.
Is NIL the reason behind it? Or is the guy/staff the reason for not allocating the funds appropriately? JQ money easily could have gone to another player, or even two.

I cannot however blame Pope too much as he needed his big portal fish badly last year to gain momentum and he got it with JQ. Everyone was all in when he announced. It just ended up a bad investment.

Well we are having to look for new conspiracy theories since all our old ones have come out as true.

What really irrationally irritates me is letting him travel with the team. Why? He has quit on the team and Pope allows the charade because he knows how this impacts the impression of himself.

I'm utterly astonished that there is anyone who remains open to JQ being out for legitimate reasons. The question I have is why this doesn't get more discussion at least on local platforms.

Also, unless he's ceased getting NIL payments, assuming his are paid out over time, why's he still on the team? If the staff has evidence of why he cannot play, then present it - even just allude to it not being medically possible right now. They could do this and haven't - which makes it likely that this isn't the case. Which means he could play but chooses not to - which brings me back to my question. Why keep him on the team?

I had this discussion with a vendor, the other day. He's in New York and asked what is going on with UK basketball. I told him our AD cannot identify and recruit elite coaches. He's too weak for that and wants coaches he can easily control. Then we got into a discussion about NIL and the direction of college basketball in general. I told him I think it was spiraling down long before NIL, but NIL just hastened it along. These aren't times for timid athletic directors. Or coaches.

It was clear when his dad was complaining about usage and touches. JQ was running the pick and roll and never getting the ball. If Pope isn’t going to use him to highlight his strengths, he was gonna have limited production, hurt his numbers and draft stock. He might have swelling but I’ve torn my ACL while playing sports, they don’t clear you unless you are 100 percent good to go.

You’re not lying man. I don’t see how some of these people function dealing in a world with liars and cons all day. I guess these are the people that send the “FBI” bitcoin to avoid 95 unpaid parking tickets that will “result in their arrest within 48 hours if not deposited”.

Before someone goes insane I’m not talking to anyone directly. I just don’t get how anyone could miss some of this.

What if the kid doesn’t like his draft stock and transfers to Arkansas after using UK to rehab. It literally could happen.

If that were the case we wouldn’t have paid 2 million and if it were really the case he wouldn’t have been able to market himself at all.

He could play. Nah it’s not uncommon for players to make it back faster than that with this injury today. And if not, he’s the worst spent money in all of NIK history to date. “He could possibly play for like a month but won’t be in game shape” - Kentucky offers 2 mil.

Amazes me that they want people to spend the $$$$ for tickets, apparel, concessions, and all the other stuff, but won’t come clean on wtf is going on. Everybody is just trying to maximize the money end of every situation. Nothing else seems to matter anymore. The $$$$ has ruined what most of us grew up loving, and it’ll likely not change. Agents, players, players families, literally everybody trying for a piece of pie. Even before it was “legally” ok to pay players, the people who were supposed to watch over such things looked the other way when it came to giving some schools an advantage.
No need to tell who they were. Other schools got penalized and/or didn’t get any help when it came to such things as clearing a player to play. Again, no need to mention those either. All in all, it’s a sad story.

Then he will end up even more disliked here not that he will care. Him and Peterson can go play on the same NBA team and show up 10 games a year.
