…Quantance finally over? No mention of this quitter before the game. How insulting that Pope kept up the “swelling”
bs for nearly a month.

What a colossal waste of time and money with this quitter. Just a joke.

Sits on the bench with that stupid looking hair collecting millions of dollars pretending to still be hurt.

Some of you see a conspiracy everywhere you look. None of us have his charts, so you have no clue what the actual status of his knee is currently aside from what we hear in the media. Quit acting like you know things for a fact and other people are dumb for not agreeing with your pure conjecture.

Maybe he's good to play, maybe he's actually had a set back. None of us know what's going on for sure.
Finally the voice of reason.

I didn’t coin the name, JQuit Sits, for the heck of it! 😂

Seriously though, it’s refreshing FINALLY seeing fellow fans come around to the realization that the guy is sandbagging his way to a pro contract!
My understanding is that his draft stock is falling because of this. If he can't play now, how can they trust he will be able to play for them?

I believe I'll just wait until the end of the season and see what he's going to do (or did/didn't do) before I form an opinion about him. But, he is trending down right now.

If a kid is injured, unfortunately for him, and you know it beforehand ... should Kentucky even consider him ?? Seems wiser to just move on to other recruits and portal candidates. To my view, the upside is not worth the risk of him being unavailable to play.

If that were the case we wouldn’t have paid 2 million and if it were really the case he wouldn’t have been able to market himself at all.

He could play. Nah it’s not uncommon for players to make it back faster than that with this injury today. And if not, he’s the worst spent money in all of NIK history to date. “He could possibly play for like a month but won’t be in game shape” - Kentucky offers 2 mil.

I don’t really understand what you guys mean by marketing himself. Is he just supposed to say “I’m definitely not playing next year don’t give me money or sign me up to play for you” I mean does that seem like something smart for him to do? Also Pope pretty much whiffed on everyone so lots of other programs avoided him for just this reason. He was hobbling at the LSU game why would he risk further injury at this point? If you try and put things in his perspective I don’t think he’s acting unusual at all, I just think it was genuinely dumb for Pope to recruit him.

Maybe we should've seen it coming in this era.

JQ here, a huge gamble, and failure, not for reasons perhaps as obvious as it may seem, but look at what kansas is going thru the drama with Peterson !

haha

At least I can laugh about that.

screw the jayhawks btw.

JQ is the single biggest disappointment of the season for me. Having him at 100% from the get go wouldve been a game changer. But P{ope took him knowing he was never going to be there from the beginning.

Total head scratching frusdtration and now - indifference - for me. We need a coach not a cheerleader. Desperate to see Kentucky get a new AD here. This NIL era ... ugh ... I hope everyone enjoys the players sandbagging thier way to the NBA from now on....

Stop blaming the kid. You Bennies are an embarrassment and stain on the program.
You are the embarrassment to the BBN calling them kids, he is a paid professional. 3 million for 40 minutes is even better than what the NBA pays. I’d say JQuits got a great deal and should be able to handle a little heat for watching his team lose with a smirk on his face.

I feel like the University or his daddy would have addressed it a little more if it was an injury. They kinda went quiet about it.

Does pay for play equate to fines for not playing? Especially if he can be cleared by docs. Hell...call it preparing him for the next level...aka, life in the real world.

I didn't realize we had so many orthopedic surgeons on this board, with access to our players' confidential medical history.
Dewey, Cheatem and Howe Orthopedics. Those guys have been here for years. I have benefitted from their medical acumen many times. My funny bone has flourished.

8-9 months was uncommon 15+ years ago but it’s become much more common now.
How long is Kyrie waiting to return to play? He tore his ACL in March of 2025 and is waiting until next season to play. His next game will be October of 2026? 18-19 months?

Not really a great example considering Kyrie has never been interested in playing period.

The Mavericks stink and he’s 33 years old, there’s no reason for him to play this year. If I were a fan of the Mavs I would be upset though.

This is gonna happen more and more. These guys are paid mercenaries.
That's why you get lower level 5 stars or productive and established college players who hunger for success.
I feel like UK truly lacks in player scouting. Stop basing everything of of these so-called experts with an agenda. Go find guys that fit your system and put together a cohesive roster.

Having been through 3 major knee surgeries myself, and seeing many more, I will say that a bit of swelling after a game or working it hard is to be expected at this point. It's not a major concern though and neither is re-injury..at this point. That jackass and his dad just aren't playing for monetary reasons, and I hope they bite him in the ***. I don't care what the forum "dr's" say. Minor swelling is normal, still. He should be playing and no...it's not complicated. The only thing complicated about this all is whether it helps or hurts his draft status to come back. I can't answer that but he's falling like a rock in a very deep draft. He needs to either get off his *** or leave. One or the other. I predicted when he'd come back and I was right about that. I don't believe the swelling is a major concern unless he re-injured it and as much as people on here wanna say he came back too soon, that's just not what I believe. It's possible but not likely. He coulda hurt it again regardless of the previous surgery too. Again, unlikely but possible.

Maybe he should only get 20 mpg but he should be playing, IMHO. Again, minor swelling at this stage is still normal, especially so a few weeks ago but he'll have normal swelling for probably a year or more longer. That's my two cents on it. The kid has checked out unless it benefits him, at which point, I don't really care any more.

I think what I’m saying Ron is that if it’s true he was as bad as 9 months away, and that’s typically how that goes, how could he market himself? I agree though, it is really smart for him and really stupid for Pope. I also agree I think Mark has had a lot of trouble recruiting the entire time and wanted him as a momentum piece. Also the fact that Pope cannot recruit that caliber of player, and he signed here not elsewhere, kind of shows it’s probably a momentum piece to get recruiting up ticking. “I signed a lotto”.

My only point really was I think it was easy to see either way he wasn’t going to contribute here. Outside of pope recruiting him for name recognition to help recruiting, if it’s as you say with his injury, and we signed him to play, that wouldn’t make sense.

If that makes sense.

Really? Because you guys started out saying JQ would never suit up for UK at all. Funny how the goal posts keep getting moved.
I’m not even sure where the goal posts were to begin with to be honest Havoc. I mean, I thought we were looking at a mid january timeline. But I also heard it could drain into February. I mean if that’s the case. He wouldn’t be in game shape anyway for march. I don’t know, I just sort of think he doesn’t make sense for an injury excuse. He was recruited injured and apparently we had no clue about a timeline. And the one we did know was anywhere from a month or two to never.

Right, I don't expect him to play again this season at this point. My only point is that there is no evidence that warrants assuming that he is just trying to cheat UK out of money. Is it possible? Yes. But JQ hasn't given me any reason to assume the worst of him 100%.

He could have just as easily never stepped on the floor for UK. I just don't see why people are labeling him another Sharpe.
