I think Hausen has been surprisingly good on defense lately so that's part of it. Like I said maybe Combs has just been in funk recently but it's been quite bad, imo. Barely drawing iron several times from two feet had me calling for the hook. Hopefully he regains some form.
I was referring to Sage. He seems to be the only guy besides Stirtz who doesn't routinely miss uncontested 3's.

If there's anything with Iowa basketball that I can count on, is to expect the unexpected. Whenever I'm down on an Iowa team, they surprise me and pull off a big win, and reel me back in.. Then they proceed to kick me in the nads again. So, Iowa winning tonight wouldn't shock me. I expect a much better effort than last time out, I'll be disappointed (and convinced this team has entered a free fall) if we don't see that.

I can accept a loss - but I want to see a competitive team at minimum, and hopefully a win.
You can count on a opposing player averaging 3.0 ppg having a career night. 😔 😟

They don't have anyone quite that low, but the smart money for the player to have their "Will Ferrell debate scene in Old School" moment against Iowa is between these three:

Buyuktuncel - 6.7 ppg
Essegian - 5.4 ppg
Jacobsen - 4.7 page

I could also see Hoiberg's f***ing kid going for 17 pts tonight, coming in averaging 9.7 ppg.

This game will tell us everything we need to know about where Ben's coaching will take us. Hopefully Beth can make the right decision if needed.

So these would be the players Iowa needs to lock down. 😆

Will be following your prognostication on these players to watch tonight.

Hopefully by calling them out on this post I have jinxed their a$$. 😆

Ben deserves a big win in front of a home crowd. Hope it comes tonight.

Players too. They need to get that big home win off their back so they can just relax and go play

The only way I will not be really mad, at least not in a lingering fashion, about a loss tonight is if the Hawks truly make the Huskers beat them.

If the Hawks can get off to a good start, then a loss means the Huskers were just better and earned the W. Is what it is.

But if the Hawks stumble trip and fall on their faces for most of the first half again for the 4th game in a row, then they will be very beatable again for the 4th straight game.

Figure it out, boys.

Essegians been hurt all season so that's one less guy to worry about! Sam Hoiberg is a dog though. I would love to have a player like him on Iowa.

I would disagree to the tune of - I think Nebraska is a bad passing team. So many wide open guys on the perimeter receive bad passes they have to adjust to field. Rarely do they get to catch and shoot in one motion.

As far as shooting, 36% from the arc may not be elite - but its pretty good - and the sheet volume of 3s they put up has them 12th nationally in 3s made per game.

I have a feeling Iowa wins tonight. Folks are realizing they can beat Nebraska at the FT line. I expect Iowa to do the same tonight. And winning on the road in the B1G is always a huge challenge.

And no - im not insinuating thats due to officials giving Nebraska a hard time. It would make sense that when your whole identity is to shoot 3s and then get in transition - you're going to get dramatically fewer calls than teams driving into the paint consistently.

3 Stats you should be worried about

FG Percentage Defense- Nebraska 19th Iowa 229th
Three Point Percentage Defense- Nebraska 21st, Iowa 107th
Defensive Rebounds- Nebraska 48th, Iowa 353rd

As per NCAA Stats
