RIP is a more appropriate thread title when people pass away, especially for a legend, but Tango is going to Tango.

Great role & great actor. Did you direct the movie? His fav role was playing Augustus "Gus" McCrae in "Lonesome Dove" from 1988. He based his character's Texas Ranger mannerisms on Sammy Baugh, a QB for the Washington Redskins (and TCU before that). The book won a Pulitzer.
I never really liked westerns but I like that one a lot. Diane Lane didn't hurt - Danny Glover, Tommy Lee Jones also did some of their best work. Hollywood cant do men anymore. They have to get actors from Australia or UK

A true talent.
Might not have gotten the acclaims others in his profession received , but based on his performances, Robert Duvall
was up there with the best.
RIP Robert Duvall

I loved Duvall and think he was a great actor.
However, nobody “rests in peace” after death.
You either die and go to be with Jesus Christ or option 2, which is eternal torment.
RIP seems disingenuous under the circumstances.
I was hoping someone would mention that role! Loved that movie. If I recall correctly, that movie didn't do well upon initial release or it had limited distribution. Critics got a hold of it and it received new life. It started out as "The Ace" and was re-released and re-branded as "The Great Santini.""I am The Great Santini!!!"
R.I.P.
How do you know what happens when a person dies ?I loved Duvall and think he was a great actor.

No problem, I'll make sure nobody says it when you go to option A or B.I loved Duvall and think he was a great actor.

People forget that he was also the original Frank Burns in the movie M*A*S*HI recall two of his early performances. He played a German soldier in the 60’s TV Series “Combat!”, and Boo Radley in “To Kill a Mockingbird”. Then came his great roles in the decades that followed.
Colors, Falling Down, and Sling Blade. His roles in The Godfather / Apocalypse Now and the Great Santini were classic !
All Academy Award worthy!
Almost forgot about Sling Blade!Colors, Falling Down, and Sling Blade.
lol..I first read it as Marital Arts.... which also helps with the aging...His 4th wife, was 41 years younger than him. That'll keep a man young!
Duvall was known as a skilled Argentine tango dancer and maintained tango studios in both Argentina and the United States. He also trained in Brazilian jiu-jitsu and practiced martial arts with his wife.
