You do understand we just took on a $700M stadium renovation? Where the he’ll do you think all that debt came from. That debt will get serviced with the suite and ticket price adds and additions in the coming years (well at least that’s the plan). People will be paying a small fortune to attend college athletics and they will gladly and not-so gladly in some cases do so.
Revenues exceeded expenses for the entire athletic department by 263k this year, unlike a lot of places.
This has been posted all over this site (ON3) but thanks for doing it again without comment. When the next big time football program undertakes a stadium project, they will take our place at the top of the list.
Sorry but PSU wrestling is not taking a financial hit anytime soon.

I remember many years ago when PSU joined the big ten, we asked, “why?” One of the big selling points was that now the basketball team would be able to compete with other big programs like Indiana or Michigan.

Probably the worst part of Pa HS wrestling is watching mat wrestling when top does absolutely nothing but ride. The Bassett / Bachman match wasn’t that good. Bachman blocked, circled then did nothing on top except ride pull bottom out when they got to edge. Was like watching another boring college match.
How many championships does the volleyball team need to win to get a bigger slice of the pie?
