I think Minto clamped down on Levi's left arm with his right arm, a la what NBA players calls a clamping loose ball foul. He initiated the clamp out of bounds. Levi was having none of it, so he created separation with a shove. That shove was unfortunately near the edge of the raised platform and resulted in a penalty point.
Effectively, Levi was trying to push Minto off himself. The stage was just coincidental. Sure, it was bad judgment.
Don’t care. If you don’t want to get pushed off platform, stay in the center of the mat and wrestle.

they went ob and Minto didn't let go after a couple of steps and he pushed him off... stage awareness wasn't present

Agreed, but here's why he did it: his top 5 are the 5 defending national champs. Taylor is the last of them.

Smith and Endene are far more questionable with both out for the year and one in the portal.

Shane did say that when he made this list he wasn't sure if PJ was redshirting. He must've done the list in the preseason which makes sense with some of the names and places of guys.

Yeah, it seems strange to have a guy who was kicked off his team and is now in the portal on the list, although I guess he's just setting a precedent for keeping AJ on the list even after the inevitable meltdown comes. LOL.
This has to be the plan, although they need to get Angelo back first. He's apparently been seen on Iowa's campus in a walking boot. Arnold is obviously too short and small and therefore less than ideal for 197, but he can't redshirt and should at least qualify for nationals at 197 (which Sampson won't), so, yeah, why not? It's just another mark of the sad state of affairs at Iowa when a backup 174 is the best option at 197. Stuff like that happens sometimes, but it shouldn't at an elite program.

And the 3 backup 165s are all winless.

Yeah, given a choice, I'm sure Gabe himself would rather go at 184 than 197, but when (if) Angelo gets back, the 197 is preferable to just watching.
Between actually making a smart decision to not burn Ludington's shirt and Tom's temper tantrum kicking Endene off the team, Gabe is basically their only backup at three weights. One of the 165s is PK's little brother. Maybe give him a match somewhere.

Yep I posted about it on 34..Robb was honest with the staff and said I'm gonna hit the portal. Thompson is looking for a medical as well his weight wasn't anywhere near 184 so he wasn't making it. Robb is coming off of a broken foot
